The Sudden Order

Ingrid and Caym continued their leisurely stroll along the cobblestone pathway.

Ingrid's hands remained clasped behind her back, her fingers interlocked as she walked beside Caym. "How should I explain the Second Princess?" she asked.

Caym glanced briefly at her, his amber eyes reflecting the dappled sunlight filtering through the bare trees. "There are things better expressed through actions than words," he replied. "There is no need to explain."

Ingrid's gaze dropped to the ground, her brows furrowing with worry. "I do not wish to hurt her," she confessed softly.

Caym's gaze remained on path ahead. "Your support has helped her more than you realize," he said. "If she can't find happiness in your joy, perhaps it's time to reconsider the bond of friendship."

Ingrid looked up at Caym, her eyes searching his for reassurance. She remained silent for a moment, contemplating his advice.
