The Illusion Of Escape

Sarina's heart raced as she turned around, only to find that the mirror she had just walked through had vanished into thin air, "Why is every entrance I go through vanishing!" Screamed Sarina as her heart raced as she looked around the attic, her mind filled with curiosity and a touch of fear, With all the entrances vanishing, hey eyes landed on a window, the only remained option. She cautiously approached it, feeling a mix of anticipation and apprehension. "Can I finally escape this hell?" thought Sarina as she cautiously opened the window, she was on the top floor, but that wouldn't stop Sarina from jumping to try to escape, suddenly Sarina's heart started to race as the house grew higher off the ground, blocking her escape route. She couldn't believe her eyes! Panic set in as she realized she was trapped once again, "N-n-noooo! How is this happening! I'm gonna die here!" Tears streamed down Sarina's face as the house stretched taller, obscuring the ground from her sight. She felt her heart pounding in her chest, consumed by fear and helplessness. In that moment, she knew she had to gather her courage and find a way to overcome this daunting challenge. With tears in her eyes and mind filled with disbelief, Sarina takes a step back from the window. As she surveys the attic one last time, her gaze lands on an intriguing piece of wood protruding from the ceiling. Curiosity piqued, she cautiously approaches it. Sarina yelled, "come on, pull!" as she tugged on it, causing it to finally come out. It flew out with such force that it nearly hit her in the head, "shit that was close!" Sarina sighed in relief. As she pulled out the wood, she discovered yet another note that had fallen out. "Another note?" She whispered to herself, intrigued. Curiosity sparked, Sarina picked it up and began to read, "jumping out the window is the only choice," the note read. Sarina was torn. After experiencing so much trauma in the house, she didn't know whether to believe it or not. But with limited options, it seemed like her only choice. Sarina walks up to the window, looking down with fear in her eyes. "Can I really do this? What if the note was lying?" she knows it's her only choice. With a deep breath, she slowly climbs out the window and takes the leap! "Ahhhhhhhhh!" With a scream of terror, she plummets towards the ground, unsure of what awaits her. As the ground gets closer and closer, her heart races. And then, with a thud, everything goes black. "Sarina, wake up!" Sarina's eyes flutter open, and to her surprise, she sees Jaqueline, her deceased friend, standing before her. "Jacqueline!?" Sarina questions, filled with confusion. But Jacqueline laughs and says, "No silly!" suddenly her face starts to melt off, just like before, the blood oozing the same horrifying event was happening once again, Sarina screams in terror as she wakes up, relieved to realize it was all just a nightmare, "I-I'm aliv-" Sarina's words pause as she looks around, she realizes she's back in the attic. This time, it's even darker, and blood is dripping down the walls. With a quickened pace, sarina stands up and walks towards the shattered window, now stained with blood. As she looks outside, the darkness obscures her vision, the only thing she can make out are the twinkling stars in the night sky, giving her hope to still fight for her survival and to escape the house. "Stay positive Sarina I can't give up just yet!" Sarina told herself as she gazes at the stars through the blood-stained window. Suddenly, she hears a creaking sound coming from behind her. With a quick turn, she finds herself face to face with three eerie entities standing before her, The shadow she couldn't stab, her grinning reflection, and Jaqueline's horrifying entity all stood before her eyes. Filled with fear, she makes a split-second decision and jumps out the window once again, desperate to escape!
