Bete

"Can you shut your mouth for one second?" Tiona said with an annoyed face.

"What's wrong with stating the obvious? She's just taking up space on our practice ground. We should use it for actually doing training rather than watching her swinging her sword," Bete retorted.

Ais deepened her brow but stayed quiet.

"What's your name, boy?" Xian coldly said

"Hah? Who is the boy here? I can't see any children around here," Bete snapped back.

"I'm talking to you, dog. Now tell me your name before you aggravate me more." A slight red hue filled the air.

"What did you say about me? I ain't a dog, you blind hag!" Bete retorted, oblivious to the growing tension in the air.

"Well then 'ain't a dog' should we have a duel to put you in your place" Xian resisted the urge to slice his head off.

"My name is Bete you bastard, You Hear! Do you want to fight me here? I'm not going to waste my time with trash like you-" Bete finished the sentence but felt the ever-growing bloodlust.

"So you have chosen death," a bone-chilling tone filled the atmosphere, and Xian dashed forward, grabbing Bete by the neck and throwing him onto the practice ground before he could react.

Bete quickly regained his footing and felt a surge of anger from Xian, who unsheathed her katana and threw the scabbard aside.

Tiona and Ais wanted to stop Xian but felt every muscle in their body screamed to stop

"Be grateful boy, I will be merciful and leave you alive" Bete looked at me with caution and fear

"I will only be merciful this one time," Xian declared, her voice dripping with icy resolve. dashing to Bete in an instant

Bete was taken by surprise and tried to kick her away but she easily evaded the attack and struck with her katana leaving a gash across his chest and kicking him away

"Is that all you got? Weak" Xian said to the recovering Bete

Bete, undeterred, lunged at Xian with lightning speed, but his attacks proved futile as she effortlessly dodged them. Xian continued to dominate the confrontation, delivering a flurry of strikes, each one cutting deep into Bete's body.

Despite the pain and fatigue, Bete refused to use his magic, Hati, against her. Xian noticed his hesitation and chastised him.

"So you're still holding back? You are as weak-willed as you are pitiful," she coldly remarked.

Xian then launched another relentless assault, leaving Bete battered and kneeling in exhaustion.

"Consider yourself fortunate, for you are the first to bear witness to my magic," Xian declared, sending shivers down Bete, Ais, and Tiona's spines as they processed her words.

"I am the demi-goddess of bloodlust," A chilling proclamation filled the practice ground with an aura of dread.

Bete, Ais, and Tiona were gripped by fear, realizing the gravity of the situation. They had encountered something beyond their power

"Punish thee who has angered me, you must. Fear me as I am your death, I proclaim. In my wrath, you'll find no escape from this flame." Xian's bloodlust surged

The intensity of her bloodlust spread throughout the Twilight Manor, paralyzing everyone with its malevolence. Bete was particularly affected, unable to move as if an invisible force held him captive.

At that moment, a vivid memory resurfaced in Bete's mind – the memory of a monstrous entity that had decimated his village, leaving him helpless to protect his sister, lover, and family. The trauma he had buried deep within himself resurfaced, magnified by Xian's overwhelming presence.

Just as the tension reached its peak, Gareth's commanding voice rang out, disrupting the dreadful atmosphere. He arrived with Finn, his stern gaze fixated on Xian.

"What's going on here!"

Gareth and Finn shifted their attention to Xian, who regarded Bete with a disdainful expression. Xian, in turn, redirected her focus to the duo, snapping her out of her trance and dispelling her oppressive magic.

As Xian withdrew her bloodlust, relief washed over Ais and Tiona, causing them to slump to the ground, struggling to regain their composure.

Bete, too, felt a weight lift from his chest, and he collapsed onto the ground, gasping for breath.

"I deeply apologize. My anger got the best of me, and it affected more than just this practice ground." Quickly realizing the gravity of her actions, Xian offered a sincere apology.

"Who are you, and what is your purpose here?" Gareth, still wary, demanded answers. He stood ready to take forceful action if her intentions proved hostile.

Tiona stepped in to provide an explanation on Xian's behalf, recounting the events that had led to this confrontation.

Gareth and Finn exchanged glances, understanding the situation. They sighed in exasperation, with Gareth muttering, "That reckless Bete... always running his mouth."

Their posture relaxed, and they turned their attention back to Xian, appearing more accepting of her presence.

Gareth offered an apology on Bete's behalf. "We're sorry about Bete. He tends to be... difficult. Please, let this incident pass."

Xian nodded, accepting their apology, and retrieved her fallen scabbard, sheathing her katana.

Amidst the commotion, another voice chimed in, and everyone turned to see Loki, holding a wine jar, and Riveria accompanying her.

"Well, well, well, what do we have here? It seems our blind swordswoman has been causing quite the stir." Loki, with her characteristic playfulness, couldn't resist commenting

Xian maintained her demeanor, Loki's presence signaling the end of the intense confrontation.
