Mei Xing entered Lu Aotian's office, immediately struck by the familiar yet freshly updated surroundings she had helped create.

"Good afternoon, Ms Mei Xing," greeted Ruolan, Lu Aotian's secretary, with genuine warmth. "You like what you see?"

"I love it." Returning the gesture, Mei Xing smiled softly. "Good afternoon, Ruolan. It's wonderful to see you."

"Mr. Lu is ready for you," Ruolan informed her. "May I get you something to drink? Perhaps something cool, considering the heat?"

"An iced tea would be perfect, thank you," Mei Xing replied, her smile widening just a touch.

"Of course, I'll have it sent right in. Please, go ahead."

Acknowledging with a nod, Mei Xing proceeded to Lu Aotian's office, absorbing the subtle changes along the way. After three polite knocks, she gently pushed open the door.

"Good afternoon, Mr. Lu," she announced cheerfully.
