"She's not turning me against anyone," Lu echoed with frustration. He turned to his father, Mr Lu who was watching the drama between them.

"Dad, you've seen Mei Xing. You saw how she supported me when mum was in the hospital. You even spoke to her. Does she seem manipulative and fake to you?" He asked.

Mr Lu sighed. "I did speak with her and she didn't portray any of those qualities."

"See?" Lu Aotian turned back to his mother.

"She's just good at acting," Mrs Lu shrugged. She wasn't willing to see otherwise.

"For heaven's sake, mum. Mei isn't like that."

"You're not seeing her and that's final," Mrs Lu declared.

"Well, that's too bad. She's ready my girlfriend and I'm not breaking up with her when our relationship has just begun," Lu Aotian stated.

Mrs Lu gasped. "Your girlfriend? I didn't approve it."

Lu Aotian scoffed. "Since when has your approval been needed in matters concerning my relationships?"
