Yuxi's sob echoed softly in the living room. She couldn't get past her last words without breaking up in tears.

Mei Xing, torn by her words, found herself standing and moving over to sit beside Yuxi. She gently took her hands, offering her sympathy.

"I couldn't have her destroy my marriage. Not when things were starting to turn out great for me and Jietang," Yuxi said with a shake of her head. "I found something I didn't have in the Tang family."

Yuxi settled her eyes on Mei Xing. A small smile played on her lips. "I was needed, appreciated and seen. Most of all, I found the love and attention that I craved. The selfish part of me didn't want to let it go."

"There is nothing selfish about that Yuxi," Mei Xing whispered. "You deserved all those things."
