Chapter 23 Night Banquet at Du Residence (Continuation)

Shu Guan followed Du Wenqiang upstairs, into a spacious and elegant study.

Shu Guan's gaze scanned the study. The study did not have many ornaments, only a desk, several chairs, and bookshelves embedded into the four walls.

The bookshelves were filled with books, many of them showing signs of being read.

On the rosewood desk near the window, there were also many books, all of them looking a bit aged from being flipped through. Next to them were brushes, ink, paper, and an inkstone. There was still ink left in the inkstone, and the brush tip was still wet. Several sheets of paper scattered on the desk, filled with writing.

So far, Shu Guan had been to two studies owned by influential mortals.

One was the study of Xu Pingxi, the Governor-General of Chu and Xiang.

Xu Pingxi's study was also very large and filled with many books, but those books were all brand new, probably untouched since their purchase.

Thus, Xu Pingxi's study was merely for show.
