Chapter 54: The Crimson Blade

Ouyang Hai sighed and threw the whiskey bottle in his hand far away towards the river.

Then he leaned back in his chair, looking extremely tired.

"I'm tired."

Gazing at the river, he murmured something. It seemed like he was talking to the middle-aged man behind the newspaper, or maybe it was just self-talk.

"When can I be transferred back? I really don't want to do this job anymore."

"Pan, do you know how painful it is for me every day?"

"Is that so?"

A soft voice came from behind the newspaper.

"Well, I can report to my superior, and next month I'll transfer you back, as long as you can bear the discipline there."

Ouyang Hai's face changed instantly, and the melancholy, sorrow, and fatigue on his face disappeared. He seemed to think seriously for a moment, then solemnly said to the man behind the newspaper:

"I've thought about it, and I think I'm better off in Shen City. I can make a greater contribution to the organization here."
