Chapter 265: Devil Gate

In the inky mountains of Soul Lake, there stood a dilapidated Taoist temple. Even the current temple master dared not enter lightly, as one could easily walk in but never walk out.

The interior of the broken Taoist temple was extremely simple, much like a ruined village temple. Though referred to as a Taoist temple, there were no sculptures or images hung inside for worship.

There was just an empty main hall, two side houses, and a backyard.

Perhaps due to the intrusion of the ink-like Soul Fog, the backyard was desolate, with not a single weed growing except for a dead locust tree.

Under the dead locust tree, there was an ancient well. The well opening was not large, but when looking down, it seemed boundless. The world inside the well was very simple, containing a dried-up blood pool at the center of which lay a corpse in the dried blood plasma.
