Chapter 176: Martial God

"Is this really just a suit of armor? There's no one inside?"

The warrior with the spear, his spirit shattered, stared at the golden armored figure in the moonlight, waves of flame rolling off it, and his eyes were full of shock and disbelief, as if all the knowledge he had built up in the first half of his life had been smashed to pieces and thrown on the ground, ruthlessly trampled on.

"If there is no one, then it is just a suit of armor!"

An old man, his eyes full of sorrow, glanced at the broken water-fire stick in his hand, then looked up at the young man before him, and a great deal of his frustration suddenly dissipated.

It seemed that it wasn't because the martial arts he had studied were simple and easy to learn, or because he was shallow and uninformed, but because the armor was not of this world. It belonged to the Heavenly people, and as such, it was natural that they, the warriors who were still mere mortals, could not surpass it.
