Despite Rod's logical arguments, neither the King nor Horus agreed with his opinion.
It was simply too heretical.
Under the protection of the King, this strategy might have been successful; some clearly tarnished individuals being killed by a hero acting out of a sense of justice wasn't an unforgivable sin. Moreover, Rod had all but secured his place in the Fire Hall. For Royal City, which was in dire need of high-level combatants, such a mistake was not irreversible and could be forgiven.
However, the King intended to shape Rod into an even greater image, to become a banner for Royal City, just like Alan.
Such a blemish was absolutely unacceptable.
But Rod didn't really want to become such a public figure, burdened with the image of an idol.
He tried to convince them.
