Chapter 1- Secrets That We Hide:

The Students Were Eagerly Listening To The Professor's Lecture On Biology Especially Shaun, Even Though It Was Stormy Outside. The Sound Of Thunder Rolling Across The Sky And The Heavy Rain Falling Onto The Windows Were Only Adding To Their Excitement. Shaun Was Genuinely Excited About This Lecture As He Was Planning To Work As A Scientist.

The Lecture Covered Topics Such As Cell Biology, Molecular Biology, Genetics, And Evolutionary Biology. As The Students Took Notes, They Eagerly Listened To The Professor's Explanations, Allowing Themselves To Become Absorbed In The Lecture. Shaun Appeared To Take The Most Notes Despite His Fatigue And Lack Of Sleep.

He Looked At His Watch Seeing That It Was Nearly Time As He Was Excited To Eat His Beautiful Bacon Sandwich That His Mother Always Makes. However As He Looked At His Bag He Saw A Maggot...

"What The Hell? Gross" He Shook His Head In Disgust Before Flicking It Away Unfortunately The Bug Already Left Disgusting Mucus Around The Top Of The Bag.

"Disgusting Bugs" He Sighed. As The Bell Rang All Students Got Up And Left, As Now The Lecture Room Was Now Filled With Bustling Students And Noise. Shaun Pushed Past People Since He Was Dying Of Hunger Of Course Metaphorically. "Damn It Why Does Everyone Walk So Slowly!" He Wined Like A Child.

As He Entered The Cafeteria, The College Cafeteria Was Filled With The Chatter Of Students, All Of Them Eager To Get Their Food And Continue Their Day. Lines Formed Quickly As Students Waited To Get Their Food, And The Serving Staff Were Quickly Working To Provide Everything To The Hungry Students. The Lunch Line Moved Swiftly As Students Got Their Meals And Sat Down At Various Tables.

Some Students Would Sit And Enjoy Their Meal At One Of The Many Tables In The Cafeteria, While Others Would Grab Their Food And Immediately Go To Class. The Atmosphere Of The Busy Cafeteria Was Filled With Excitement And The Anticipation Of A Full Belly.

"Good Job I Don't Have To Line Up" He Smiled Took A Sigh Of Relief As He Sat Down On A Bench. "Now I Wonder How This Bacon Sandwich Looks Like" He Opened His Bag However As He Was Unzipping His Bag He Saw His Pal In The Distance. It Was Finley, He Seemed To Be Heading Into His Next Lesson. "Oh Hey Finley!" He Waved To Him, Instantly Catching His Attention.

"Oh What's Up Bud? How You Doing?" He Fisted Bumped Shaun, This Was A Common Communication Tactic By Them. "Oh Nothing Much Really Same Old Stuff However The Biology Grades Are Going Up For Me" He Explains With A Nod.

"Hmm Biology? I Didn't Know You Were Into That Crap Haha, I've Got Maths Currently So I Gotta Dip See You Later" He Ruffled His Hair Before. "See You Later Too" He Waved One Last Time Before Returning Back To His Bag, "Anyway Let's Dig In" He Opened His Bag With Hungry Eyes However...

He Froze And Stared At His Sandwich In Dismay As Small Maggots Moved Across The Bread. He Looked At The Sandwich In Fear And Disgust, Suddenly Feeling Like He Was Going To Be Sick. He Quickly Closed The Container, Threw It Down, And Stood Back As Far As He Could.

He Placed His Hand On His Mouth Feeling Like He Was Gonna Vomit At Any Moment. "What The Hell! What's With These Maggots.." He Picked Up His Bag Went Into The Restroom. As He Took A Look In The Mirror He Shook His Head As He Couldn't Comprehend The Events Unfolding Before His Eyes.

"This Is Getting Ridiculous... I'm Gonna Go Back Home And Discover Who Thought It Was Funny To Do This Shit" He Grunted Before Wiping His Face With Water And Drying Himself.

As He Left The Restroom And Out The Front Doors, Outside The Day Was Bright And Sunny, The Sky Was Clear And Blue, And There Was A Sense Of Positivity In The Air. The Sun Shined Down Warmly, And The Air Was Crisp And Clean. The Birds Were Singing, And There Was A Sense Of Joy In The Air. Contrasting The Current Events That Were Unfolding...

The Weather Was Pleasant And Inviting, And It Was The Perfect Day. It Was A Day That Exuded Warmth And Happiness. As Shaun Walked Along The Path Home He Saw That Surprisingly Town Was Very Popular Today. "Hmm I'm Guessing That New Restaurant Finally Opened Up... Uh Doug's Burger Barn I Think" He Thought To Himself.

As He Kept Walking He Entered The Forest, As His Family Thought It Was Best To Buy A House Away From The Town However This Made The Journey Difficult To Say The Least. As He Walked Through The Muddy Forest, The Sound Of The Birds And The Insects Echoed Around Him.

The Thick And Lush Foliage Covered The Ground, And The Air Was Filled With The Smell Of Damp Soil And Wet Leaves. The Path Was Muddy And Slippery, And You Had To Watch Your Step Carefully So As Not To Slip. His Boots And Clothes Got Muddy As He Walked, And Shaun Could See The Muddy Footprints You Left Behind On The Path. Despite The Muddy And Difficult Path, The Scenery Was Still Beautiful And Charming.

As He Approached His Home His Home Wasn't The Best Looking However, The Old House Gave Off An Eerie Feel. It Was A Large, Ancient Looking Building, And It Felt Like It Had Been There For Ages. As He Buzzed In For The Gate To Open He Could Smell Something Almost Like A Dirty Rotting Smell. However It Seemed The Gate Wouldn't Open And No One Answered From The Video Doorbell.

So He Decided To Walk Around The House As He Did He Found The Source Of The Smell...The Remains Of Dog, It Underbelly Exposes It Intestines, As well As It Ribs Were Pointing Out Of Its Destroyed Stomach Seemed That It Was Already Dead For A Long Time. Flies Were Already Surrounding This Poor Soul.

Shaun Could Barely Stomach The Situation As He Placed His Hand Over His Nose To Avoid Breathing In The Decaying Smell. "What The Hell... What's Even Going On Today?" He Gagged Before Moving Forward. He Seemed To Find A Hole In The Fence And Decided To Crawl Through The Rupture.

As He Stood Back Up The Knocked On The Backdoor However No Answer And For Some Reason There Was Way More Bones Along The Floor As He Picked One Up It Almost Seemed Human But He Placed It Back Down On The Floor Trying To Ignore It.

He Decided To Invite Himself In, As He Entered The Walls Were Covered In Cobwebs, And The Wooden Floorboards Creaked And Groaned Under Every Step. The Air Was Heavy And Still, And There Was A Sense Of Melancholy In The Air. The Furniture Was Old And Worn, And Some Of The Windows Were Broken And Shattered. This Situation Was Getting More And More Confusing.

As He Opened The Fridge To Grab A Bite He Was Met With A Horrific Sight, When He Opened It In Fact, He Was Greeted By A Strong And Unpleasant Smell, As If Something Had Gone Rotten Inside. Inside, He Saw Food And Leftovers That Had Gone Bad, And Some Of Them Had Even Turned Into A Moldy Black Liquid Mess. The Shelves Were Sticky And Had An Oily Coating, And Shaun Didn't Even Want To Think About What Kind Of Germs And Bacteria Were Festering In There.

It Was A Sight That Turned Your Stomach And Quickly Made Him Want To Shut The Fridge And Forget The Smell. So He Did And He Slammed It With Anger, "This Isn't A Funny Joke Anymore!" He Yelled Holding His Nose. "I'm Starting To Think This Ain't A Prank Anymore And That Something Really Has Gone Wrong Here" He Sighs.

He Spotted A Flashlight On The Table And Quickly Picked It Up He'd Need It Due To The Lights Not Working Properly As Being Shrouded In This Sinister Darkness Would Spell Trouble.

As He Carried Walking Throughout The Large Spacious House, Floorboards Creaking With Every Step, He Finally Reached The Stairs However He Suddenly Heard Footsteps Which Caused Him To Run Under The Stairs Holding His Breath Tightly.

As The Figure Came Into View It Was His Father However He Seemed Different... His Skin Pale, His Eyes Blood Red With Eyebags And Veins Visible On His Fingers. As The Father Came Into View, For Some Reason His Father Started Sniffing The Air Like A Predator Looking For Prey.

"Hmm I Smell My Old Son Haha" He Cackled With A Maniacal Grin. "Come On Out Son, I Wanna Show You Something... Something Amazing... The Truth About This World And It's God!" He Yelled. Shaun Knew He Had To Keep Quiet And So He Did. "Hmm I'm Gonna Have To Yank You Out From Where You're Hiding Ain't I? Don't Worry I'll Find You Soon Son" He Smiled Before Walking Out Of View.

"T-This Is Getting More Terrifying By Each Second... Dammit I Need To Find Mom Maybe She Knows Something" He Whispered To Himself Slowly Walking Upstairs Avoiding The Creak Steps. As He Made It Upstairs He Found Large Red Writing On The Wall (Possibly Out Of Blood) It Stated "God Has Arrived And Now We Bless Him With A Sacrifices To Prove Our Worthiness In Heaven". This Made Shaun's Eyes Widen, "I Need To Get Out Of Here" He Nodded.

As He Entered His Parents Bedroom, He Was Met With A Horrific Sight...His Mother Was Laying Dead On The Bed However Half Her Body Was Gone Like She Was Sliced Apart,The Blood Already Dry, Maggots Seemed To Already Have Entered Her Body And A Foul Smell Radiated From Her Corpse.

Shaun Fell To The Floor In Horror And Shock As His Eyes Widened, "Mom?" He Teared Up As The Tears Fell Like A Waterfall The Person Who Birthed Him And Cherished Him Was Now Deceased. Culprits Are Still Unknown However Shaun Could Already Guess The Suspect As He Got Up Wiping His Tears He Headed For The Door.

"I Need To Leave And Call The Police... This Is Too Much To Handle By Myself" He Stutters However His Older Brother And Father Came Through The Door Blocking It. "Well, Well, Ain't This Amazing My Old Son Is Here, Happy To See You Sorry About Mom She Kinda Refused To Believe In Our Teachings So We Had To Execute Her" He Sighed.

"You're A Monster! You Loved Her!" He Yelled At Him As He Choked On Tears. "Sorry Bro But This Is For The Best If We Gain More Followers We Get A Ticket To Heaven, Paradise! And Of Course We Need To Kill The Defectors!" His Older Brother (Who Was Wearing A Dog Mask The Ones Reminiscent Of The Ones Sold In Doug's Burger Barn) Explained With Joy And Not An Ounce Of Regret Or Guilt.

"I Don't Know What Happened To The Two Of You However I Know You're Too Far Gone" He Brandished A Pocket Knife From His Hand Keeping It Out His Fathers And Brothers View. "Anyway Let's Get You Cleansed" His Brother Walked Up To Him With A Tired Expression

"Don't Touch Me" He Whispered Before Thrusting The Pocket Knife Straight Through His Right Eye Which Caused Searing Pain And Caused Him To Fall Against The Ground As He Rolled In Pain. His Father Looked On But Didn't Help And Instead Charged At Shaun With His Large Spade.

As His Father Charged He Was Telling Like A Mad Man Swinging It Left And Right Like A Maniac, However As He Saw Opening He Dodged Under Him. And With That He Ran As Fast As He Could The Floorboards Snapping At Each Step. As He Dashed Out The Door He Noticed The Fence Was Adjusted...

The Fence Now Had An Barbed Wire Wrapped Around It With Electricity Generating Under It, This Would Be An Issue So He Thought It Would Be Best To Try To Escape A Different Way.

"Dammit They Are Really Smart... " He Sighed And Then Saw A Lake At The Back Area Of The House, He Thought Maybe He Could Use The Old Motorboat And Get Out Of Here As He Sat Down On The Aged And Dirty Boat He Pulled The Outboard Engine And Started It Up.

As The Boat Started Up However He Could See His Brother And Father Come Out The House, His Brother Still Have The Pocket Knife Lodged In His Eye. Fortunately The Boat Started Up Abd Shaun Was Already Far From Shore Just Before He Left He Flipped Them Off.

As He Arrived On The Other Side Of The Lake, He Got Up And Sat Down Contemplating What Just Happened. "Why... Why Me.. I Didn't Do Anything!" He Yelled. He Then Proceeded To Throw Sand At The Sky "God Give Me Back Me Family!" He Yelled With Rage And Sorrow However It Was No Use. All There Was Left To Do Was Call The Police.
