Chapter 29 : The Magi Circle

Poppy’s POV

My leg bounced furiously during the carriage ride. It wasn’t necessarily a long trek to the Magi Circle, but I’ve been humming and vibrating like a nervous wreck for at least two hours now. I fiddled with the marriage band around my bicep, rotating the navy blue bangle anxiously.

We were married now and I knew what was supposed to come next.

Percy was sitting outside with the carriage driver, leaving Erik and me alone inside. Part of me was thankful because I didn’t have to look at him while thinking about my wifely duties later tonight.

“To the Gods, Poppy,” Erik broke the awkward silence, tearing his gaze from the window to slap his hand on my thigh, ceasing my bouncing altogether. “You’re shaking the whole carriage. Our driver probably thinks we couldn’t even make it to the suite.”

My cheeks flared brightly, tearing my gaze away the second I made contact with Erik’s intense gaze. His hand burned hotly through the layers of golden tuille covering my legs.
