My thoughts were consumed with Tiessa. It wasn’t right. The mate bond should have a hold on me, there was no question, but not to the point that I couldn’t think of anything else. I had to speak to someone about it.
As soon as I finished my most important meetings for the day, I headed to the Elder’s Hall and found just the wolf I was looking for there. Elder Marcus came out to meet me.
“Greetings to an Alpha and Elder,” I murmured, bowing my head low.
Marcus was an Alpha of this pack once. He led us through many trials and difficulties. And his devotion to this pack was so strong that when his fated mate died, he was able to live on and care for the pack still. For his great sacrifice and devotion, Marcus ascended to Elder. He was a wolf that we couldn’t afford to lose.
“You have come with great worry, Alpha. What is your concern?” Elder Marcus asked me.
