Chapter 11: Consider It a Promise

I scrubbed the last of my makeup off with a face wipe and winced at my bare, tired face in the vanity mirror. I must have verbally expressed my disgust since Jasmine looked over in alarm. She was just pulling on some tennis shoes to head home.
“Something wrong?” she asked.
I shook my head and gave her a reassuring grin over my shoulder. I was worrying her too much nowadays. I was so on edge with everything going on with Abbie’s case.
“I’m fine. I just got a good look at the giant bags under my eyes.”
Jasmine giggled and I looked over at her. She gestured toward her own face, which also looked tired and a little droopy. “We did have a long night. I thought we would have made a lot more tips with that huge party.”
