It was 10 p.m.
Kamiyagawa clocked out of the convenience store on time, without a minute of overtime, and even took a discarded bento from the store to bring home for dinner.
The early summer evening was not too hot, and the temperature could be considered comfortable.
In the bushes by the roadside, unidentified summer insects chirped.
"In a few more days, it'll be the perfect time to eat watermelon," Kamiyagawa thought to himself.
But it was only a thought.
In Japan, the cost of fruit was too high, and for a poor person like him, the freedom to indulge in ice-cold watermelon was unattainable.
He wanted to go home.
Kamiyagawa shook his head, trying to shake off life's trivialities, and began pondering about things related to "Strange Tales."
"Speaking of which, lately my character in the game has been idling at the Kendo club's Red Demon teacher, and in a day or two, it will probably hit the limit where the paper man dies from overwork."
