"Saori, let's play!"
The spirit at the door, previously sullen, seemed easy to placate and instantly became enthusiastic.
"Then let me see what kind of games Kamiya bought for me," Satoru exhaled, "Hmm, if it's for two players, let me see, let me see… Breakup Restaurant, Two's Company and such..."
The TV and game console were connected.
Satoru grabbed a cushion for himself and placed it under his bottom, also grabbing one for Saori in the process.
The half red crayon slouched onto the soft cushion, and its careless, scrawled red lines spread out, forming childlike hands that held up the game controller.
The TV screen flickered with changing lights and shadows.
"...Saori, you go pull the lever on the left, seriously, it's so obvious," he said.
Satoru was accustomed to playing pranks on people through the internet or over the phone, acting big and bossy.
He didn't really like direct contact or interaction with others.
But sometimes, he would feel lonely because of it.
