Thirteen Modesty

After arriving in Japan, I became a high school student named Kamiyagawa. Looking around—
Hanako crouched in the bathroom, waiting for someone to knock on the door; the Split-Mouth Woman wandered the streets with scissors in hand; Miss Mary's deathly calls echoed incessantly; the wails and barks in Inunaki Village never ceased; the Ubume searched for her long-dead child; the Aoandon smiled, enticing passersby to play with the lanterns of a hundred demons…
In a crumbling world rampant with sinister tales and malevolent spirits, Kamiyagawa set a small goal for himself:
"Defeat all the demons and monsters, and become the supreme ruler of ghosts and deities."

Kamiyagawa put away the blood pump and the blood taken from his heart.


He stared intensely around the room, confirming there were no other traces of ghost stories left.


In this large bedroom, Kamiyagawa saw neither doors nor windows.


It was unclear whether there had never been any to begin with, or if the original doors and windows had disappeared amidst the chaotic spaces of The Living Fish Inn.


Kamiyagawa summoned his scout once again.


Repeating an old trick, he used the scout's avatar to explore the situation behind the walls of the room.


The final piece of information he received was that, apart from the wall Mary had smashed through, the other three walls were impenetrable, seemingly the boundaries of this part of the map.


Based on previous experiences in the Inner World—


The boundaries of a map area, if not using special means like taking the Kisaragi Train, usually could only be crossed by ghost stories that had already realized an Other Visit.
