2. Awakening (1)

"Haha! Hahaha!" Darcio laughed crazily while running from a group of bullies. He was now 14 years old and the awakening ceremony was soon to start at his school. He was known as the biggest troublemaker at school and so he had many enemies.

He looked back at the school bullies that were chasing him and he saw an alley.

'Now this is the best way to escape!' He thought to himself.

Using his momentum while running he stepped onto the wall and jumped off onto the other side of the alley and held onto the descending ladders and started to climb up. "I swear Darcio if you dare show up in front of me ever again I'm gonna squeeze that head of yours into pulp!" Shouted the redhead who led the group.Darcio looked down at his pursuers and raised his middle finger to them as he wore a toothy grin. He went back to climbing and once he reached the top of the building he looked at the bustling city from above.

Somewhere in the rundown part of town which were also known as the slums was an apartment complex owned by a group of gangsters. Darcio was standing at the entrance of this very place and he went in and started to climb a flight of stairs.

He then arrived in front of his own house. "I'm home!" He said out loud. A few seconds later a younger girl came running up to him and hugged him.

"Brother I missed you!" Said the little girl.

"Oh c'mon Audrina I was only out for half the day." Darcio said cheerfully as he lifted his sister off the ground.

"Hmph! Bad brother!" She pouted as she puffed up her cheeks and playfully punched his chest.

Darcio walked into the kitchen with his sister in his arms. He put her down and asked "What's there to eat? I'm sure my little angel whipped up something for her loving brother."

"All you know to do is eat, you bad boy!" Audrina said as she started to put the plates on the table.

Dinner had ended and it was already dark outside. Darcio sat on the edge of his bed holding an envelope which his father had left behind for him. 'Read it once you are 14' is what the envelope said on-top of it.

"What are your thinking about so seriously brother?" Audrina asked as she came and hugged Darcio from behind.

"I'm still scared to open up this letter." Darcio replied while patting his sister's head. "I don't know why this is all he left for me though it's worth the shot to read it."

"Let's read it together then. I'll be able to give you the courage to do so." Audrina said as she stuck her tongue out.

Darcio sighs and he carefully opens up the envelope and pulls out a piece of paper and unfolds it.

'Dear Darcio,

Well time sure does fly sadly my wife and I are not there to tell you about all this. Well since you are reading this means we have already passed. Well it is dissapointing yet it shows you are now a man.

Now to the main point I'm writing this is to tell you clearly of your real family. Well I'm not sure you had one as I found you inside of the tower wrapped inside of a black blanket. It was quite the suprise for me. Honestly I never knew what to do and my wife decided we should keep you. Well we also decided if you should also be the husband of your sister when she grows up. I'm sure you both would love each other very much since you are not related to one another at all.

Also inside of the envelope you will find two rings. This was found on you when we took you in. So I'm sure it belongs to your real parents.

I wish you luck on that awakening trial as I know you must have hesitated to read this I'm sure it's just around the corner. And make sure you protect your future wife at all costs.

Darcio opens the envelope to find two rings inside of the envelope. One inlaid with a black gem which had his name on the inside of it, and the other was similar to the first only with a red gem on it. He took out both rings and put the one with a black gem on and turned to look at his sister and he could see her face buried in a pillow.

"Hmmm, my wife sure is a shy one!" Darcio said mockingly. Audrina raised her head from the pillow and glared at her brother who was also her future husband with a face flushed red.

"Stupid brother like as if I will marry you. Hmph!" She said as she buried her face back into the pillow.

Darcio lifted her hand and put the ring on her finger. She blushed as she noticed what he was doing. Unknown to both of them that they loved each other. "Have a good night." He said as he lay down and closed his eyes.

The sun had risen and sky was already blue. The light past through the tattered curtains and washed over Darcio's face thus waking him up. He got out of his bed and took off his current clothes revealing a lean but muscular body.

Audrina had already prepared his uniform for the day as he threw it onto his body and rushed out the door. Darcio was speeding down the stairs and he finally left the building. Once he was outside, he started running off in the distance.

"Boss the boy has left." A man in a black suit said as he saw Darcio running away.

"Tch! That son of a bitch is back at school." The guard muttered under his breath as he saw Darcio coming closer to the school. "Hehe! Morning uncle Baldie you're doing great keeping this school safe for me!" Darcio said playfully.

"Get in or I'll close you out ya pest." The guard said. "Just go awaken and dissapear from this world already!"

"Awww. I didn't know you loved me that much!" Darcio exclaimed sarcastically while covering his mouth.

Before the guard could say anything back Darcio had already run off and was already within the building. He walked all the way to his class and sat down at the table. Not so soon after, the bell rang and the home room teacher entered into the class.

"As you all know today is the awakening ceremony of all you punks." Said the teacher. "So I'm just going to go through this one last time. There are 8 categories of awakened the lowest is F,E,D,C,B,A,S and lastly abnormals. Everyone has one chance to awaken in life, but if you clear some conditions, there is a chance at reawakening which is purely by chance as nobody knows those conditions. So that's it. Now all of you get up and go to the auditorium."

All students stood up and started walking towards the direction of the auditorium some having confidence in their eyes, some were excided while others nervous.

Upon entering the auditorium, there were mats everywhere and some were occupied with students sitting on them. Darcio noticed this and decided to sit somewhere random. Soon after others started to follow and then a girl with brown hair and slim figure sat next to Darcio.

"Eeeeh! Miss royalty how many this humble peasant help you as I am ready to serve?" Darcio asked sarcastically while giving a small bow.

"Hmph! As dumb as ever." Replied Liliana the third princess of Midijaz while turning her head away with a slight blush on her face. 'Dummy can't he tell I love him' she thought to her self.

"Silence!" Shouted an aged man who could be seen with grey hair and a small beard. "We shall now begin the first part of the awakening. This involves introducing prana into your body which will later activate your abilities. Then after that we shall go onto the next part which includes measuring of your mana and unlocking your own private system.

So firstly sit cross legged and then take a deep breath in from your mouth and in small bursts let out the air from your nose. Repeat this and then you shall finally feel something invade your body but don't resist. Let it happen and then you shall feel a warm sensation as you have finally connected to prana. So let's begin!"

Everyone closed their eyes and started to do just as they were told. Suddenly Darcio felt a warm sensation which then transformed into a burning pain. He could see white lights. 'Wait I can see the lights but my eyes are closed.' He thought

The white lights started to get absorbed into his body and he finally felt a burning sensation near his heart.
