Chapter Five

During the journey to Vualen, Lalaine spent the past two weeks teaching Robin the method to create a natural hair dye.

While others in the merchant group were skeptical about it, they could only believe it after seeing Lalaine's hair change.

Even after rinsing her hair again and again, the color did not fade which go against of what the commonly produced hair dye that fades after being exposed to water.

"Hmm~ It is surprising that for someone who was stuck in her room concocting all sorts of things have such stamina. Not once did you complain"

Robin's right hand man, Jackie, asked in a friendly manner as he handed Lalaine her serving of dinner.

"It was mandatory for us to exercise regularly. Mother said that simply maintaining the land was tiring, because of that we were raised to have a good enough stamina that will make us last long enough for work"

Though, half of the reason is because as nobles who have the duty of continuing our lineage, a good amount of stamina in bed was also necessary during our lectures.

There's no need to tell them such trivial things.

Lalaine scoffed in her mind about the truth.

"Also, my lady, if you don't mind me asking, what was the price you set for the hair dye that made the boss look defeated?"

Jackie looked back and noticed that Robin was still upset about their talk.

"Two percent of the profit will be mine. Additionally, he will give me my own place in the city of Lerdin"

The Lerdin countdom became a trusted aide of the duke of N'hara due to their constant supply of goods to the dukedom.

As a commercial city, naturally, real estate will be a worrying matter.

Hearing this, Jackie begun to understand how much potential Robin saw from the hair dye Lalaine made.

...

A few more days later the merchant group arrived at the Vualen viscounty.

"Why are you wearing a wig?"

Uncle Robin asked after Karol, another trusted aide of uncle, helped me wear a dark brown wig.

"Uncle, it is only polite to greet our in laws. But I don't want to dye my hair again. And if I were to say I was wearing a blonde wig, they might want to touch it and find out that I am in fact not wearing a wig"

"Good point"

The carriage stopped.

As the door opened, a maid was waiting for us.

"Hello Sir Robin, lady Lalaine, I am madame Giny's personal maid Rin. I shall lead you two to the drawing room"

"Alright"

Uncle extended his hand after getting down which I took.

"Let's go"

"Hehehe~"

Uncle giggled in excitement.

'Ah~ seriously though, my ancestors must have a thing for himbos seeing that even my uncle occasionally acts like one'

Even though this was the first time she went to another territory, Lalaine was barely fascinated seeing the mansion of the viscount as she could not help but compare it to the many other mansions and sky high buildings she saw from her previous life.

While there was a sense of history within the buildings, Lalaine continued on looking at them with indifference.

After going around and round, they then eventually reached the drawing room.

"Robin! It is so nice to see you again!"

"The feeling is mutual, Giny!"

A woman who look younger than her age opened her arms, her blur eyes filled with excitement, as she welcomed Robin.

As soon as the two saw each other, they immediately hugged one another.

"....."

Seeing them act like this, Lalaine thought to herself that her uncle must be having an affair with the viscountess as it go against etiquette to openly hug a married individual.

"Whatever you are thinking is not what is happening right now"

Seeing Lalaine's expression, the viscountess explained quickly to prevent any sort of misunderstanding.

"You see, I am indebted to your uncle. After all, he was the reason why I and my husband married. You could even say he is a cupid. A well known one at that"

"Does that mean he helped many others with their... problems?"

"Indeed. It is to the point that he is known as the couple consultant in our city"

Uncle Robin then showed a smug smile as if to flex his wisdom in the matters of love.

"I cannot believe that someone who is treated as a cupid has no love life himself"

"Hey! If I wanted to I could, okay!" Robin scoffed as he sat down.

Such a warm and friendly atmosphere.

"....."

To the point that it looks like I am getting on the way between a reunion.

Lalaine felt like she was in an airplane, sitting between two friends, feeling out of place.

"Viscountess, will it be alright to excuse myself first? I feel dizzy from the journey here, also, I believe that you two have things to catch up on"

"Viscountess? Call me aunt from now on!" The viscountess exclaimed merrily.

Giny snapped her fingers. A few seconds later, a maid entered the room from another door.

"Escort the lady to her room"

"Understood madame"

Finally out of the room, Lalaine sighed in relief that she managed to come up with an excuse to get away from a potentially, highly talkative and story telling in law.

"This room is for yours to use, my lady. If there is anything you need assistance with, you only need to drop a marble on the notification pipe and a maid will shortly come"

The maid pointed at the pipe on the wall which is commonly used in N'hara.

No matter how much I think about it, it is such a clever invention as a means of communication in this era.

"Thank you for everything"

"One more thing, my lady. Would you like some cold water?" The maid who noticed Lalaine feeling hot, asked politely.

They have someone who can make ice here?

"Gladly"

"Understood"

The maid bowed and left.

Shortly after, the maid returned with a pitcher of cold water.

"I appreciate the hard work you have done"

"It is only natural, my lady"

The maid left after bowing once more.

After freshening herself with a glass of cold water, Lalaine sat at the center of the bed in a lotus position and started meditating.
