Amanda watched Paul pace back and forth in their cell, muttering to himself.

"Paul," Amanda whispered. "Paul, I'm scared. What are they going to do to us?"

Paul stopped pacing and sat next to his wife. He took her into an embrace and kissed the top of her head. "I don't know honey. I just hope Elias is safe wherever he is."

Amanda sobbed on his shoulder.

  .....

Yuri followed his father into the Peak. It was the tallest building in the Nightblade Warriors faction and where they were going to meet the man in charge.

Yuri glanced back at the guards marching behind them. "Why so many guards, Father?"

"You can never be too safe here."

Yuri walked the rest of the way in silence. When they reached the topmost floor, Christina, Blade's daughter was waiting for them. Christina had jet-black hair cut in a bob, and she wore a tank top and jeans.

"I am the leader of my wolfpack. This is my son, Yuri." his father said, glancing around. "Is Blade going to be late?"

Christina shrugged.

Yuri surveyed his surroundings. In the middle of the room where Christina was standing, there were two couches and a table resting on a fluffy piece of carpet. A long table against the wall held all kinds of food and drinks.

Yuri's stomach churned with hunger but he turned away to stare at the floor. They were sitting down on the couch when the elevator doors opened.

Blade entered the room wearing all black, his arms were covered in scars and tattoos. There were three scars starting from the corner of his mouth to his ear.

"Alpha. What a surprise." Blade said, taking a seat. "So, is this your son?"

"It is."

Blade leaned back. "Hm. And why do you think he's fit to fight alongside my warriors?"

"Because he thinks fast and did not hesitate to kill his sister when he discovered she was a dreamwalker." Yuri's father said. "I also wanted him to look for someone. A man named Ranger."

Christina gasped. "I remember him. That's who was forced to watch us kill his family."

"You killed his family?" Yuri exclaims. "What did he do?"

"He was trying to hide dreamwalkers," Blade growled. "What do you want Ranger for, hm?"

Yuri's father bared his teeth. "That is none of your concern."

"It is if you want my warriors still."

Yuri could feel the fumes coming off his father. He swallowed, hoping he wasn't going to say anything that would start a fight.

"I was there when you killed Ranger's family. So he and I struck a deal." Yuri's father cocked his head. "I told him my plans for taking Phoenix out, then said I'd save his daughter only if he found dreamwalkers and Amanda's son, Elias."

Blade a brow. "So if we didn't kill Ranger's daughter...who..." he trailed off slowly and started nodding his head. "Ah."

"Who did you use?" Yuri hissed.

His father sighed. "Never you mind. Amanda was a past lover and she ran off when she was pregnant."

"So what do you want Elias for?" Yuri snarled.

His father paused to look at him. "I want you to kill him."

Blade smirked. "That should be easy. They've just arrived in my faction."
