Christina wearly opened her eyes and sat up. The room instantly started spinning and she groaned.

When she managed to get her legs on the side of the bed, she finally realized where she was. The nurses station.

Leaning against the wall with a bloody wrap around his chest was Yuri. His hair was wild and his wolf ears were sticking straight up.

"Look who's finally up."

Christina pushed herself up to her feet, scowling. "What are you doing here? Don't you have your pack to go back to?"

Ignoring her bitter mood, Yuri said, "I'm here because I though you'd wan to go after the traitor Allen. And so we can hunt down the rest of the dreamwalkers."

"What of the other warriors?" Christina sheathed her blades.

Yuri sighs. "Your father already sent them out. So are you in?"

"Hell yeah." Christina growled. "By the time I'm done with Allen he'll be wishing he were dead."

.....

The pit had been Callum's home for as long as he could remember. He was the youngest of five sibling, his four older brothers were taller, muscular, and got more attention than he ever did.

His mother hardly left her rooms.

Callum was on his way to his chambers when he heard a commotion below. He hurried through the halls until he made it to the meeting room. The door was opened slightly and he heard his brothers laughing and his father chuckling.

A woman pleaded. "Please, Kurtis! They're coming and they're going to destroy us!"

Callum's eyes widened but suddenly images flashed behind his eyes.

Bodies.

Burning buildings.

Screaming mothers.

His brothers fighting wolfmen.

Fathers protecting their children.

In shock, Callum fell forward causing the doors to open. Silence fell and everyone turned toward him.

His father glowered down at him from his seat. On any other day, Callum would have done anything to avoid that look, but today wasn't that day.

Callum gritted his teeth and pushed himself to his feet. "Your name is Stacie, correct?"

Stacie nods. "Yes."

"Father what this woman says is true. We could be attacked in hours, possibly days." Callum licked his lips. "I saw bodies everywhere, mothers screaming, and my brothers were fighting wolfmen."

Voices broke out, and everyone started talking at once. Callum's father raised a hand and silence fell. "If you know so much why are they coming here?"

"To kill the dreamwalkers." Callum nods over at the man beside Stacie. "Alpha wants his son dead. Then they're going to kill you father."

His dad burst out laughing and his brothers joined in. Callum glowered at them, hands clenched into fists. Suddenly the water from the fountain in the middle of the room froze over.

People stopped laughing to gasp and point.

"What is this?" his father demanded.

Callum held his head high. "I've already told you about my abilities. But you laughed and mocked me." Callum waved a hand and the water unfroze. "But whether you believe me or not is up to you."

Callum gestured for Stacie and Elias's father to leave the room. They obey reluctantly.

Before anyone said anything he continued. "But when you hear screams of the dying, smell smoke in the air, and suddenly find yourself hovering above you own body, don't say I didn't say a damn thing."
