Ch.25: Dark Spirit Masters(2)

Ch.25: Dark Spirit Masters(2)

As Fu Yue walked inside the last part of the cave she can see, that these dark spirit masters do not have any artistic value.

They can even a normal cave look bad while trying to decorate it with the items they stole.

Or is this really a store room for the stolen goods?

She didn't know but what she knows is that the leader of this group of dark masters is here.

She could feel the ominous energy of him even from outside.

As she moves forward she can see, different kinds of spirit beast' body parts and even human bones and skills being collected together to make formations.

At the end of the tunnel, she can see an scrawny old man in a rob sitting on the wooden throne at the center of the room.

It was not hard to guess who he was…

At first glance he might seem like a weak oldie with half a step into his grave, someone who might die at any moment.

Hearing the sound of steps he opened his mouth to speak, "Welcome, I was waitin-Huek!"

But his speech was interrupted by a lance of ice which was now embedded in the chair where he stood previously.

As he dodged the attack coming his way, there was annoyance visible on his face.

But he still suppressed his anger as he made a sage like face while blabbering random things.

"Impatient, are we? But I suppose that was to be expec-"

*Crash* *Boom* *crackle*

This time Fu Yue attacked yet again and all of those were spot on the dark spirit master wasn't able to dodge this time and was half frozen in ice even as he dodged halfway through.

The spirit master was shocked by this result. He had never anticipated that such a young looking girl could force him to this state.

Though he had heard about the red headed girl being strongest of the generation, he had just dismissed such thoughts as exaggerations.

Afterall, rumors are often exaggerated.

When he noticed someone ambushing their hideout he was really angry, so much that he wanted to go to the entrance and kill of the insolent spirit masters right there and then, but he then realized that this ambush is been going on for quite some time.

Most of the low leveled guys are dead, while some of the spirit ancestors along with a spirit king was dead too.

Almost all of their men leaving those from the two caves besides his were all dead!

So much had happened and no one of his men realized anything. What does this mean?

The stealth skill of the assailants was really good!

If it weren't for his martial spirit Crimson Blood Puppet, which allows him to sense killing intent and death, he might not be able to find their existence as well.

He was baffled by this situation, was there a spirit emperor among the attackers or were there numerous spirit kings?

Even he might not be able to kill them with such efficiency.

Then he saw a girl with crimson hair, with age less than 10 years old, walking in front of him.

He realized who she was, 'Crimson Witch'.

That's the title she had. When he saw that it was really her who was leading such group he was forced to believe the rumors of her.

But he still found an opportunity in this encounter!

What if! What if he were to catch and offer her as a gift to the association? Would the leader be happy?

Of course he would!

Even though the association is a new organization which rose just a few years ago it holds immense authority and support of very strong spirit masters.

The leading figures are strong enough that it can be compared to the almighty Slaughter city!

If his gift managed to impress the leader, he might get a position in the inner circle of the association.

So, in hopes of obtaining goods without damaging them much, he decided to slowly manipulate her in his words.

'For the greater good!', he thought as he dodged her initial attack while suppressing the anger boiling inside of him.

This is the thinking of his which resulted in his current situation.

Turns out he was still underestimating her.

How naïve he was to think he can afford to be lax when facing such an enemy.

But now he has known it all! He would not be fooled this time.

'I will not take any risk! I will summon my martial spirit and directly enter my final form!' He quickly thought his mind as his body was ready to execute the act in the next split second.

Just as he thought that a read humanoid mass of blood appeared behind him, it's tendrils washing over his body.

"First Spirit Skill: Ice Pheonix's Digital sword!"

Unfortunately, he didn't get to transform, not even one form, as he felt a gust of cold wind pass through his waist.

'Waist? Wait how can I fell gust of wind passing through my waist when my body is connected in that part??'

*Thud*

That was his last thought as he fell off to the ground with his eyes wide open.

'Turns out I underestimated her till the en-'

"That was it I guess." Said Fu Yue as she swings the ice sword in her hands glowing with intense ice attribute soul power almost like a light saber being drawn.

"Hmm… others must be done as well, let's clear up the last tunnel and be done with this mission." She said as she stretched her body.

At the entrance.

Cui Jie and Hao Ran have just dealt with the last bit of work with Fu Yue's arrival had eased their assignment by quite a bit.

Though they don't know exactly why the number of dark spirit masters are rising so much.

It is really greatest rise in the history, if things keep going like this, even ordinary people will be aware of the terror of dark spirit masters.

One might see it as an opportunity to make name for themselves but the effect it has on the general population is undeniable.

Those of shadow squad can understand this as most of them have closely felt the difficulties suffered by normal civilians in such cases.

It's always the same the one who suffers the most is always the weak ones.

Just like the hostages rescued during this mission.

The number of hostages are kids, mostly those who at the age of 5.

Why? Cause most of the kids older than that gets sacrificed in their bloody rituals while those who are younger than that are killed.

While those of this age group can prove to be some good resources if they awaken better martial spirits, that's why they are kept alive.

Certain times when rescued such kids are in a state of shock and may develop a trauma.

"Don't! I don't want to return!"

Fu Yue heard a voice as she turned.

When things calm down a bit, hostages are often inquired about them and their home.

Same thing was happening right now as Fu Yue hears someone shouting.

When she asks who it was, she was informed as a kid being really against going home and even shouting not to take her away from here.

This intrested Fu Yue, "Looks like a new type… Let me see who it is." She said confusing the spirit master in front of her.

"New type? Pardon! I-I will guide you there!" But he still complied in front of Fu Yue's unmoving gaze.

She walked inside the tent as saw the form of the kid which shocked her even more.

'Th-This? Why is she here!'

Hap Jung station, Modern Seoul.

Where crowd of people were walking through the escalators going for their job and hurrying at their workplace.

A boy who looked like in his late teens stood there, in front of the station gate seemingly jobless.

In mist of the constantly flowing crowd, he stood there unmoving. With the look of conviction in his eyes.

"It is time to finally use this and see what it does." He said as he opened his fist where a light green weird, shaped keep lay in his plam.

"A key which can open instant dungeons… in the middle of broad daylight?" He thought with some confusion flashing in his voice.

"Though it is hard to digest, the whole leveling system and even the Multiverse chat group I got 4 months ago is also quite questionable.

"Still, I got to try this before I can reach a conclusion. Maybe… this new system thing is the reward of Double Awakening." He said trying to convince his confused mind.

"How hard can it be, I even have the martial arts shared by Mr. 'Reincarnated Runemaster' And I am no longer the weakest hunter, I can do this!"

He said while circulating mana increased from the technique of Origin Breath of Qi throughout his body.

With an expression filled with confidence as he put the key forward, which opened the portal to the instant dungeon with blinding lights.

[Alarm! You have entered the Instant Dungeon.]

"Huh?"

[Alarm! You cannot leave the Dungeon. Either kill the Boss or use the Return Crystal.]

"What?"

"You actually can't leave unless you kill the Boss…" He said somewhat uncomfortably before slapping both of his cheeks by both hands. "Boss or whatnot I can do this!! I am not weak anymore! This too is just a ladder for me to climb on."

Saying that he marched forward taking a final look at his stats.
