chapter 26- BLAIRE’S POV

I moved closer to see what was going on, the reason for the chaos. Immediately she sighted me she went mute and her face dimmed in sadness and guilt. As her gaze met mine, I noticed a sudden change in her expression. A fleeting brightness dimmed, replaced by an unmistakable shadow of sadness and guilt that seemed to weigh heavily upon her features.

Her face, once animated, now bore a subdued cast, as if the encounter had stirred up a tide of remorseful memories or unresolved emotions that clouded their countenance. It was as though the mere sight of me had triggered a poignant realization, leaving her momentarily subdued by the weight of her own emotions.

Of course, I didn't react I just stood there and watched her. She couldn't even bring herself to talk to me, she looked devastated and confused. Obviously, she didn't expect to see me there. Mira and I had eye contact and she signaled me to be calm.
