Chapter 1 - An Unexpected Encounter
Boss, 16, and his older brother Oat lived together in the bustling city of Bangkok, while their parents resided in the province. Oat owned an Internet Cafe, which was a small hub of digital activity. It was on a regular day that an unusual guest walked in, a guest who would send their lives on a rather amusing turn.
The guest was none other than Phim, a well-known model that Boss secretly admired. Little did Boss know, Phim had actually met Oat at a pub the previous night, an encounter that had resulted in a rather flirty conversation. As Phim flirted with Oat in the cafe, Boss watched in excitement, his admiration for Phim almost causing him to overlook the sharp expressions Oat was throwing his way.
Suddenly, without warning, Oat's expression turned from a playful flirtatiousness to a fiery rage. He punched Phim square in the jaw. Boss's excitement turned to worry as he understood the implications of his brother's actions. Phim, being a model, could very well lose his job if he was left with a bruised face.
"Oat, are you crazy?" Boss exclaimed, his voice trembling with concern.
Oat's response was a grumble, as he continued to glare at Phim who was nursing his bruised jaw. Boss couldn't believe his brother's recklessness.
"Hey, you better be careful," Boss warned, leaning in close to his brother. "Phim's a model, you know. He can't just walk around with a bruised face."
Oat seemed unconcerned, much to Boss's frustration. Phim, meanwhile, recovered from the punch and turned to Boss with an amused smirk.
"Your brother's quite the charmer," Phim said sarcastically, his tone dripping with humor.
Boss's cheeks turned a shade of pink as he realized he was caught in the middle of an awkward situation. Phim then turned his attention to Boss, his gaze inquisitive.
"By the way, does your brother have a girlfriend?" Phim asked casually.
Boss, quick on his feet, decided to dodge the question with a playful twist. "Well, if Oat were a girl, you might have been flirting with him right now."
Phim's eyes widened in amusement at Boss's reply. "Touché," he conceded, his lips curling into a smirk. With that, Phim left, leaving Boss alone with his brother, who was now seething with anger.
"What was that all about?" Oat demanded, his voice almost a growl.
Boss shrugged, trying to hide his amusement. "Oh, Phim? He'll probably come to see you more often now."
Oat looked baffled, unable to decipher his brother's intentions. "What were you guys talking about?"
"Just some friendly banter," Boss replied, intentionally keeping things vague.
The tension in the room was palpable as Oat continued to fume, Boss's mind still racing with thoughts. As Boss looked at Oat, he found himself wondering, amidst the awkwardness and the funny conversations, if two men could actually date each other.
On a sunny day near the beach, Phim coincidentally bumped into Oat. Phim, accompanied by a female co-worker, was initially thrilled to see Oat. However, Oat misunderstood the situation completely. He thought that Phim's co-worker was his girlfriend and felt teased, believing Phim had a girlfriend but had come to flirt with him. Little did he know, Phim's intentions were quite different.
As Phim's female co-worker tagged along, Phim quickly realized that Oat had completely misinterpreted the situation. Ignoring the girl's presence, Phim took Oat aside, leaving the co-worker behind. He suggested they grab lunch together, an invitation that Oat initially declined, feeling somewhat uncomfortable.
Amidst their awkward lunch, Phim's phone rang. It was his sister, calling to ask him for a favor. She needed Phim to pick up her son, Pat, from school. Phim agreed, and an idea sparked in his mind – maybe bringing Pat along could help change Oat's perspective.
Together, Phim and Oat headed to Pat's school. When they finally met Pat, Oat was taken aback by the sight of this fragile, fair-skinned, and incredibly cute 6-year-old boy. Instead of being scared of the stranger, Pat's eyes sparkled with admiration as he looked up at Oat.
With Pat in tow, the three of them settled at a nearby restaurant. Oat, perhaps influenced by Pat's innocent and hopeful gaze, found it difficult to decline when Phim ordered food. However, when Pat sweetly begged Oat to eat, the reluctance melted away, and he agreed to enjoy the meal.
It quickly became apparent that whatever Oat had been unwilling to do for Phim, he now found himself doing for Pat. Phim and Pat seemed to have teamed up against him, but the whole scenario was undeniably endearing. Oat couldn't help but feel his heart soften towards this cute child, and he began to see Phim in a new light as well.
As they sat together, a bond was forming – an unusual trio, each with their own unique connection. Oat had misjudged the situation, but what he didn't know was that this encounter was the beginning of a story filled with unexpected twists and turns, where love and laughter would intertwine in the most unpredictable ways.
Phim decided to take both Oat and the adorable Pat to Oat's Internet cafe. As they entered, Boss was behind the counter, working diligently. The gentle tinkle of the customer bell signaled his attention, and when he looked up, his eyes widened as he saw Oat holding the hand of a cute little boy.
Oat approached his brother, asking about the cafe while Pat stood by, taking in the surroundings with wide-eyed wonder. Phim, noticing the growing bond between Pat and Oat, saw an opportunity. He turned to Boss with a grin and a playful twinkle in his eye.
"Hey, Boss, do you mind taking care of Pat for a while? I need to discuss something with Oat," Phim suggested.
Boss gladly agreed, his heart warming to the charming innocence of Pat. Pat, as it turned out, was a social butterfly who could effortlessly strike up conversations with anyone. Boss began asking Pat questions, and the young boy responded excitedly, narrating his adventures and school stories with infectious enthusiasm.
It was then that Pat's friend, Plan, entered the store. Pat seemed a bit taken aback to see Boss playing and chatting with Plan. He quietly stood behind them, his expression somewhat questioning.
Plan couldn't resist teasing Boss when he noticed Pat's confusion. With a sly grin, he leaned closer to Boss and whispered, "Boss, are you attracted to Pat?"
Boss, caught off guard by the unexpected comment, was momentarily stunned. He quickly glanced at Pat, who was still watching them with curiosity. Boss decided to play along with Plan's jest, not wanting to confuse or upset Pat.
In a friendly but slightly annoyed tone, Boss replied, "Come on, Plan. Pat's like a little brother to me. Don't be ridiculous."
Plan chuckled at Boss's response, clearly enjoying the teasing. However, in the depths of Boss's heart, there was a flicker of something he couldn't quite explain. He dismissed it as nothing more than fondness for Pat, a deep brotherly affection.
After a while, Phim returned to collect Pat, and Oat seemed visibly annoyed. Plan couldn't help but laugh at the unfolding scene, but Boss was left with a sense of confusion. He couldn't shake the feeling that Plan's words had struck a chord deep within him, even though he vehemently denied any romantic feelings. Boss's internal struggle began as he grappled with these newfound emotions and the complex web of relationships that was forming around him.
