What happened that night
It's on a cool evening, Alaric and the three chats as they walk together towards alaric's house.
Alaric's mother stands in front of the gate as she waited for the boys.
"Mum" ,Alaric yelled,happily.
"Hurry up,the food will get cold" ,she says as she smiles.
They are about to walk in as a pregnant young lady stops in front of the gate and gets off the taxi.She looks like someone in their late 20s.
"Excuse me" , the woman says with a fake smile plastered on her face.
The four boys, Alaric, Aiden, brian and brion turned.
"Can we help you" , brion asks.
She looks at brian," oh am not looking for you" .
Alaric's mother looks dismayed.
She turns to Alaric," am looking for you" .
Brian glances at the women belly and glances at alaric, "looks like our boy has finally done it" , he teased.
And the boys laughs.
"You must be his son" , the young lady looks at alaric's and beams with smile. "Am your new family member, oh sorry, I mean we are your new family members", she said as she holds her belly.
Brian laughs, "sorry miss, it looks like you misplaced your words".
Brian smiles, "the correct sentence is, you must be the father, we're your new family members".
"What do you mean , I don't even know this woman", alaric's laughs.
"Looks like I have a sibling now, pa" , Aiden laughs and the other boys joins him.
"Am sorry, who are you?" , Alarics mother asks with concern.
"You must be his house wife" , the young lady beams with smile.
Alaric's demeanor changed," miss I think your taking this joke too far, who are you?".
She walks closer to alaric's mother, "are you not his housewife?, Stephenson's housewife".
She gives a sly grin," your son's friends misunderstood, am your husband's mistress, mrs stephenson".
Alaric's mum holds her chest out of shock and is about to lose balance but Alaric holds her.
Brian, brion and Aiden is dumbfounded, when they realizes it isn't't a joke.
Alaric's is furious,"You liar!" , he yelled.
The young lady phone beeps, she unlocks it and smiles after she reads the message, she raised her head and glances at alaric and his mum," it looks like your husband isn't home, I'll come back later", she turns.
She pauses as she turns back to Alaric's mum, "and please prepare something nice for the next time you see me, I might be packing in then".
She smiles and enters the car.
Alaric's calls a servant," please help my mum back inside the house".
He closes the gate behinds him as the maid helps his mother inside.
Alaric's faces the three, sorry," it looks like you have to go to another place or go home, am not in the mood".
He walks to Aiden as he speaks to him," I'll see you later this night,let's go somewhere, I'll text you".
"Okay ", he replies.
2 DAYS LATER ,IN WHISPERS,IN THEIR DEN
"It's scarce to see you here,brion" ,Aiden says relaxed.
"What can I say I come when I feel like" ,brion pours whiskey for the three.
Brian sighs,"I can't believe the year is almost ending and am still single". He drinks from the glass,"but you know what alaric,your son here hasn't dated anyone as far as we know". He narrows his eyes at Aiden,"or are you dating someone in secret?, c'mon,you don't need to hide from us,you can tell us".
Aiden picks his glass and smirks,"let's say love is a luxury for me and besides",he curves a smile,"its stress", he drinks from his glass.
"From someone who hasn't been in a relationship",brion mutters.
Aiden scoffs,"look who's talking" .
Alaric grins,"I don't know about you idiots, but I have someone in mind, tell them Aiden".
"A girl in my class,don't know her name though, don't care ,don't wanna know and I don't know how to describe her".
"Wait a minute, let me check past posts ,I think there was one where some group of girls in your class took a pic in your class,check if you see her among one of these",brion says as he stretches his phone to Aiden.
Aiden scrolls until he pauses,"This is her" ,he says as he pointed at a girl in the photo.
"Oh she?" ,brion grabs the phone,"I think i know her,what's her name again,celo..cell ...,oh yeah, Creole".
"So Aiden do you like her" ,alaric asks.
"What?,no!" .
"Of course he doesn't" ,brion smiles.
Brion furrows his eyebrows and seams to recall something,"have you heard about the pregnant woman that was found dead".
Alaric pauses and glances at brion.
"It's the same woman I saw at your place the other day,alaric.They found her body two days ago,but unfortunately she died the same day at night".
Alaric scowls,"and so?".
"Well unfortunately for her" ,Aiden says as he fills his cup.
"Sad story" ,Brian says.
"By the way" ,alaric looks at brion,"why are you telling us,we don't even know her name".
"Well will you look at the time,is almost 8:00 ,I don't want my dad to search for me around the continents",
aiden stands as he adjusts his clothes.
He walks towards the door.
"Where were you and alaric that night" ,brion asks.
And the place fell silent.
Aiden peeks over his shoulder slowly,"what?".
"Am just asking,no offense Aiden" ,brion says.
Aiden turns,to him,"go straight to the point brion" .
"You know what I mean" ,brion says relaxed.
Brian sighs and claps,"wow what a good way to spoil the mood" .
Aiden plasters fake smile on his face,"no I don't know what you mean" .
"Well is it a coincidence that the night you and alaric went to your so called somewhere is the same night she died?",brion asks.
Aiden walks past brion and picks a whiskey bottle.
"I know the woman was wrong but what you did was....."
Before brion could finish,Aiden pours the whiskey on his head.
It drenches brion's hair and shirt.
Alaric claps his hand,"I wanted to do something else but this is suitable,thank you son".
Brian sighs as he looks at brion, "seriously I don't know what to do about you,Aiden if you want to have a moment,I and alaric can excuse you".
Aiden shakes his head,"no worries,I promise my dada I'll be a good boy".
"Have a goodnight my friends,brian and alaric".
"Kisses to you,my sweet best friend",Aiden blows a kiss to brion.
Aiden grins,"And brion,be a good boy ,don't bring the topic up again".
Aiden walks out.
