The Edge of the Cliff

They're gathering at the exit, waiting for the door to open. In the group, we have Ming Fa, Christine, Ryan, Huang Kai, Peter, Huangkai, and General Nolan.

They're all holding the same iron pipe, even though it's made of metal, it's as flexible as canvas.

The exit opens, and they walk out in an orderly manner. As they descend, the flat terrain gives them the illusion of an endless open space. It's scorching hot here, almost like a desert, and the wind is heated by this temperature.

When they reach the edge of the cliff, they see the waves crashing against the cliffs, the only source of water for them. Their mission is to insert the pipe into the waves below.

That's why Ming Fa, Christine, and General Nolan have brought oxygen tanks and breathing masks. However, General Nolan, along with Peter and Huang Kai, is responsible for controlling the length of the pipe and keeping an eye out for any enemies nearby. If there's trouble below, he'll be the first to jump in.

Peter and Huang Kai place a large box on the ground, and Peter skillfully starts the equipment.

"Ready at any time!" Peter shouts loudly, as if he's worried that no one can hear him.

"You idiot! Do you want to give away our position to the enemy?" Ming Fa nearly loses his temper at the guy with the "I don't care" expression in front of him.

"Why worry so much? We can always fight our way out later," Peter shrugs.

This troublemaker seems to be saying something beyond his capabilities, but he actually can do it. He was once surrounded by a whole army of robots and managed to escape unscathed, even capturing some new and unknown technology. The smile he wore at that time was more innocent than a child's but more sinister than a killer's.

However, seeing him now, Ming Fa is still angry!

Christine stifles a laugh, and General Nolan pats Ming Fa on the shoulder, signaling him to complete the task quickly and not argue with Peter here. Huang Kai remains neutral, crossing his arms in front of his chest, looking like he's watching the argument between Ming Fa and Peter like a deity.

Ming Fa stops arguing with Peter and instead taps Christine's head, telling her to stop laughing. Then they start the oxygen supply and jump into the sea.

There are no fish underwater anymore; they've all gone to the polar regions. So, there are only jellyfish drifting with the currents here. The coral has turned into lifeless white, and the cool sea water has been heated by the sun.

Luckily, their military suits in diving mode can resist jellyfish stings and regulate their body temperature. The carbon dioxide they exhale is converted into oxygen and filled into the tanks of their masks.

Unfortunately, even though their suits can resist jellyfish stings, they still feel pain, so they have to avoid them. And their mission must be completed quickly, or they may be attacked by those robots. Despite carrying handguns, they have no body armor, and these robots are deadly accurate with computer-targeting, making it difficult for even seasoned soldiers to dodge.

So, they need to finish this job quickly.

After skillfully securing the pipe to the ground, Ming Fa grabs the end of the pipe and presses a button. The equipment screen on Peter's side also receives the message and presses "agree."

The pipe starts sucking in seawater, and as the seawater flows into the equipment, it begins filtering out salt and harmful bacteria, turning seawater into drinking water. It then flows through another pipe into their "mobile fortress," the giant robot they are riding in.

Ming Fa and Christine complete the task, and General Nolan places two supports on the ground, opening a switch. Things on the supports that look like large machine guns shoot ropes into the seabed.

They see two ropes jump into the seabed and sink down next to them. After they grab the ropes, the ropes start ascending as they feel their weight, successfully pulling them out of the water.

But before they can celebrate, Ming Fa suddenly fires a shot towards the sea surface, and three bullets shatter the sniper bullets coming towards him.

Ming Fa turns to look around and realizes that Christine and General Nolan have also fired their guns.

"These are some sneaky bastards," General Nolan sighs, looking at Ming Fa who is struggling to climb up. "But I swear they're just treating us like toys."

Everyone nods in agreement; after all, it's impossible for robots to come up with such a hopeless plan. They believe in the accuracy of victory, as the probability of success is almost one hundred percent.

Well, at least the water supply problem has been solved.
