Change - Ch 1

Bam! Bam! Bam!

The sound of the ball hitting the wall echoed through the empty room. Again and again and again. Every time the ball deflected back to Ju, he put more power into his shot.

"Would you stop destroying our new house?!!", his mother screamed from downstairs. One last time, Ju kicked the ball against the wall. Angily, he threw himself on his bed. The only piece of furniture that was already assembled

[You are the one destroying everything!!! I was so close to making my dream a reality!!!]

He still couldn't forgive his parents for what they had done. There was one thing he always wanted: To become a professional football player.

A knock on his door took Ju out of his thoughts. Shortly after, his father entered the room, sitting next to him.

"Look... I know the move was hard for you. It wasn't easy for all of us", his father said.

"All of us???", Ju replied angrily. "You now have a new, better-paying job, and mom is back in her hometown. And I, who just got offered a spot on one of the best youth teams in Germany, had to give up on his dreams. Yeah, I'm sure it was hard on all of us", he continued sarcastically.

"I know, and believe me, if I could change things, I would. But when your grandma died and your grandfather fell ill, we had to be there for him. And when I got offered a new job in Japan, we just had to take the opportunity,", his father replied.

Ju knew that. I mean, his dad told him about his family's circumstances about a hundred times. But still.... it didn't change the fact that they destroyed his dreams.

His father looked at him and smiled. "It also isn't like there are no professional footballers from Japan. They have one of the best teams in Asia. And there are a lot of Japanese players in Europe nowdays too".

Ju knew that as well. But the chance of making it to one of the best clubs in Europe when playing in Japan was basically impossible. The chances are already low, even if you played in Europe, but as an Asian player, the odds were even worse.

He sighed and turned away from his dad to face the wall, signaling to his father that he didn't want to talk.

His old man understood him and stood up. "Don't forget you have school tomorrow. Your uniform is in the box next to the door", his father said before leaving the room.

[A school uniform, huh? Another thing I don't know if I can get used to.]
