I went to my room knowing I wouldn't be able to shower once I got there because of all the thick bandages. My arms were burning from the effort as I tried to hold both bags as well as the blanket. I managed to get to my room, and dropped the bags by the door. I'd have to call the phone company to get my destroyed phone fixed, but first. I pulled my torn bloodied clothes off, and tossed them in the trash.

It was pretty obvious someone had come through, and cleaned the room. I grabbed the tin foil cake pan I'd bought from the store. It had gotten flattened when I fell on it so I slowly worked the edges back up until the cake pan was whole again. I started slicing potatoes once I was done. The yellow potatoes didn't need to be peeled so I just started slicing.

My hands were shaking from pain as I sliced potatoes. The slices ended up thicker then I wanted as a result, but I was hungry, and I hadn't bought anything easier to prepare. I was out of any other food. I had to eat, and I needed to rest. I layered the potato slices, cheese, and ham bits throughout the pan.

Know full well that this pan of food would last me a couple days simply because I was in the habit of cooking for a group when I took cooking seriously. I took a whole stick of butter, and sliced it into five pieces. Layering some more of the grated cheese on top, and putting the rest of the ham bits as well. All that was left was to put it in the tiny little oven at 350 degrees, and wait forty-five minutes. Check if soft then put it back in ten more minutes if it's not.

I sighed, and realized that I hadn't drank anything for days, and had hardly eaten. I did remember being thirsty on multiple occasions. I was even cotton mouthing for some time while I was in the dungeon so why wasn't I feeling negative affects from that? Wait? Wasn't my health at ninety-eight on day one of my awakening?

Why was that? What ever it was the system had healed it. Which meant I was sick or ill in some way when I got the system. Curiosity burned in my mind as I wondered in what way I was ill when this all started. Then another shock struck me.

Why was that cat so big? The system had referred to the cat as awakened. I remembered it saying that in the notification. The notifications didn't linger. Once they were dealt with they disappeared so I had no way to figure out if I remembered correctly or not.

If I was correct than that little tidbit of information would have far reaching effects on the world. If every single animal in the world had become awakened, and could now get stronger like we could how long would it take for that to affect the world at large? Everyone was so worried about the dungeons. What if the dungeons weren't the most dangerous thing we'd have to deal with? I winced as I got off the bed.

I was kind of glad I'd laid my blankets over the hotel bedding so I would be more comfortable because I had bled through a few of my bandages, and wasn't feeling so good. I'd have to wash my blanket later. I grabbed up my laptop which I hadn't used much since getting to the hotel. I'd actually started regretting bringing it because after plugging it in I hadn't used it at all. I tossed the cord, and brought it back to my bed.

I was glad that the kid preferred to talk to me through social media messaging apps over texting. Mainly because he liked the bigger keyboard. His last message told me the rabbits were acting funny, and that he was almost out of rabbit food. He was worrying about them being sick, and the message was only about an hour old. That meant the kid was probably fine.

I messaged him back instructing him to call the police if the rabbits bit him or tried to bite him, and that they might have something that's making them really sick. I implied rabies just to make sure his mom took it seriously since the kid would probably run it by his mom with how serious my tone was in the texts. His mom would probably be upset with me when I got back, but I would explain in better detail once I was back home. For now I just wanted them both to be cautious. I didn't care if I scared them because if I was right about all animals awakening with us humans then my rabbits had the potential of being dangerous just like anything else.

There were different levels of danger, and I was in no hurry to expose an innocent kid to danger. I moved over to the regular social media. Missing animals, the dungeons, panic, and animal attacks littered the page. The story that was trending was of a dog the size of a bear attacking, and killing a group of campers. Most people were dismissing it as impossible.

Dogs didn't get that big, and they didn't attack people. Cat's didn't get big enough to do what that one did to me either. The worst of the chaos was yet to come. That much I was sure of. I just really hoped people would believe it when it did come.

I was so lost in my thoughts that the oven's timer made my jump. I got up, and walked over to the oven. Wincing the whole way. There had to be a way to heal myself besides the system heal in the morning. I promised myself that I would find a healing skill, and buy it outright with skill points.
