I just stood there with a wild smile on my face as I tried to use my blood soaked sleeve to wipe the blood from my face. All I succeeded in doing was spreading the blood on my face. I looked up, and saw the boss man with his men. His face was ashen. My expression went neutral as my joy was trampled on by the worries that had been plaguing me the last few days.

He was seeing the monster I'd been struggling with all this time, and it frightened him. I liked that fear more then I cared to admit. I just couldn't be playing with fire just yet. He was in charge here. Scaring him, and pissing him off wasn't an option just yet.

I stepped off the corpse of the monster I'd killed. Walking across the camp to go find Johnny, and Sam. I might be tired, and a little pissed off, but I wasn't going to forget to check on the kids after a mess like that. Johnny, and Sam were both hunkered down in the basement of one of the nearby houses. I was grateful that the drills had taught them something that had likely saved them from a lot of harm.

I had been down here before, but it seemed as if more hidden entrances had been added since I was last down here. Both a good, and a bad thing from my perspective. I checked them thoroughly for any injuries. Checking over their exposed skin, and looking for any red spots on their clothing. I found one spot on Sam that concerned me, but it just turned out to be splash from one of the monsters outside.

I didn't worry about collecting my part of the spoils. I'd just turn it into arrows, and a new dagger anyway. They'd give me materials for that without complaining since I mostly just used bone arrows anyway. They were crappy arrows, and it was obvious that they wouldn't work much longer. Monsters were getting stronger so it was a given that you'd need better weapons to kill them.

I could make due with the crappy arrows a bit longer, but I wasn't going to skimp on my dagger unless they forced me. If they wouldn't allow me to get a decent dagger then I'd have to get the materials myself. I went to the laundromat for some fresh clothes, and took a shower in the makeshift shower room in the connected building. It was cold, and basically just a hose rigged through one of the windows of a large public bathroom, but it was better then nothing, and my body was slowly becoming desensitized to this kind of thing anyway. Many small wounds made themselves known at that point, and I made up my mind to get the spectral mapping skill.

I knew I needed the butchering skill as well, but right now it wasn't at the top of my priority list. I decided to do a detailed read through of my skills once again. Only to find it had changed in ways I didn't expect.

I didn't have enough skill points to get the spectral mapping ability yet so I left it as is for now. Banked points? I thought it just cleared when I didn't finish an entire stat point worth of effort. Sure the ability to basically mark a skill as pending was both interesting, and annoying, but banked points on my mana stat. Had I really done that many revolutions with my mana?
