I smiled with a psychotic joy. I rushed forward to stab the third one before it could let go of the roof, and attack us. Someone flicked the lights on while I was mid attack of the third one. They'd heard the noise, and realized something had gone wrong. I didn't care that the light was on because the monsters already knew I was there.

The fourth one actually managed to bury it's teeth in my bow. That simple act snuffed out my joy, and brought out pure rage. My mana flowed through the bow into the monster, and converting to fire mana on the way. Lighting the monster ablaze. It screamed out in rage, and pain before flapping its retched wings.

Sending itself flying back into the garage door so hard it actually smashed right through it. It didn't take much since the damn things had already ripped a hole in the garage door big enough to allow them in. The garage door shuttered, and held by a small segment that wasn't damaged. Just barely staying upright despite the damage. I inhaled slowly.

Calming my nerves before the smoke, and smell of burnt hair really hit me. That threw me into a small coughing fit as I waved the smoke away from my face. I walked around to the drivers side of the car, and peered in for a few moments. Smiling slightly when I saw the keys in the ignition. Small town mentality at work.

That, and the camera in the garage. No one was going to steal this fancy thing without getting caught so why hide your keys. I popped the door open, and stepped in. Relaxing into the soft upholstery. Turning the ignition, and listening to the quiet hum of the car for a few moments before cutting the ignition.

It was a five seater meant for comfort with a large storage area in the back. I stepped out, and checked behind the back seat to see if there was another row of seats that had just been flattened. Smiling to myself as I popped that hidden row of seats up.

"I don't think we'll be walking home this time boys," I announced to the group that had come down to see the commotion.

They just stared at me as if I was out of my mind. I'd just killed four monsters, and I was more worried about the running car then I was the killing part.

"Part those things out," I closed the car door, "We'll need their cores, and meat. I'll get the one that flew outside."

They slowly started to snap into action as I jumped through the hole in the garage door. There was another reason I wanted to go outside without them, but I wasn't going to spook them over something that wasn't even brave enough to approach us as a group. The damn thing would probably wait until one of us was alone. I was looking forward to it. Whatever it was it wasn't that strong.

I pretended not to notice it following me as I moved into the trees. I was following the burnt patches in the trees cautiously. The wolf bat thing didn't get very far. I found it about a hundred feet into the trees, and reached down to part it out. I sensed the creature leaping at me long before I saw it.

I dodged the attack easily. Thrusting my dagger in the direction I was being attacked frown. The cat hit the dagger square in the gut. It yowled angrily, and clawed at my arm. It's claws dug in rather deep, but I ignored the pain, and twisted my dagger in deeper.

Cats the size of German Shepard weren't exactly fun to deal with, but I'd already faced something like this before so I wasn't really worried about it. I could heal since I could still move my arm. The cat yowled again, and bit down on my hand. I took advantage of the cat's grip on my hand, and yanked it's head up while forcing my knife down. Gutting the poor animal alive.

The cat yowled again, and dropped to the ground once it's teeth were no longer buried in my hand. I grabbed it's tail before it could run away, and yanked it back toward me before burying my knife deep into it's ribs. The cat yowled one more time before going limp. I smirked at seven thousand experience flooded into my system. I'd been fighting to level up for a while now.

The rewards for killing the awakened were much higher then monsters. As much as experience benefited me I needed stats, and kills more. I felt as if I was both being encouraged, and discouraged to kill at the same time. I frowned to myself as the sting of my wounds started to get to me. I parted out the bat thing, and the cat.

Forcing all of it to fit into my bag before returning to the house. They looked at me funny when they realized I was covered in blood. I shrugged with a pained smile.

"I ran into something," I shrugged off their curiosity.

Boss man's boy looked at me funny, and opened his mouth to say something, but I turned my back on him to wrap the wounds on my own arms before he could talk. I clenched my teeth as I wrapped my hand first before switching to my arm. Wrapping them up good, and tight so I wouldn't lose much blood on the way back. I wasn't too worried about it. My vitality was already working at the wounds.

Wrapping the wounds had seemed to accelerate the process. It made sense. Closing a wound did help it heal. I really wanted to improve my vitality, but the five stat point cost for upping it was a lot more trouble then I wanted to deal with right now. I sighed heavily once I was done.
