"This kid is too cocky; he needs a good beating," Ygriss muttered through gritted teeth.

Rick returned to the stage, retrieving Ygriss's sword and replacing it with a training sword for the duel. While official duels typically allowed the use of real swords, the patriarch opted for training swords to prevent serious injuries in this particular match.
