Lu Bai gently put down Yu Xi's hands and then straightened up his upper body.

He looked at the tears that had not yet dried on Yu Xi's fair face and did not know why he suddenly felt an inexplicable throbbing pain in his heart. It was strange and suffocating.

Unable to resist the urging on the back of his head, the young man stretched out a hand, intending to wipe away the tears on the young woman's face. But when his hand was just a centimeter away from Yu Xi's cheek, he suddenly stopped his reckless action. He just could not help but hesitate, his mind on the horns of a dilemma.

In the end, Lu Bai curled his fingers, retracted his hand, and clenched both of his hands into fists. He felt strangely defeated, and frustration created rolling waves inside his head.

Right now, he still does not have the qualifications to do so. Not yet, not now, at least.

Yu Xi's soft breathing gradually became calm and steady, and she was soon sound asleep.
