Yu Xi frowned a little at him in response. "Lu Bai," she whispered. "I do not mean to make you angry."
The young man's voice shook. "Then why did you do it?"
This was, undeniably, the last conversation she would like to have with him. The only way to get out of this was to probably argue things out so that she was able to find some leeway to reason with him in the future. Yes, that seemed to be a good idea, and she knew how to take care of this.
And so, Yu Xi found herself sinking into a role in her head.
Deeper and deeper.
She was doing this for her own good. She was doing this to survive. But why did the young man actually blame her for her self-preservation to keep herself alive?
Lu Bai's words incensed her; a stinging pain bit into her chest, and reflexive anger overtook it. "Would you have done anything different in my place?" She bit out acidulously.
