Review and Box Office

The next day, critics review and comments came out. They were of mixed review with more on posetive side. The critical response had passed the 60 marks line which is a very good score for a teen movie.

Roger Ebert of the Chicago sun times gave "A walk to remember" 3 out of 4 stars and commented: "A satisfying teen coming-of-age movie, but very specific for a teenage group. They will sure love it more. Overall, it was quite satisfying."

Star weekly wrote in its review: "Amy Collins gave a wonderful performance in the movie. She remained loyal to her role even though there was not much depth to it."

The San Francisco Chronicle reviewer Octavio Roca found the film "entertaining" and wrote: "The picture is shamelessly manipulative, but in the best melodramatic sense."

The Los Angeles time gave film full four stars and wrote about it: "A new success for Amy Collins rise to fandom. She and West portrayed the role of Jamie and Carter wonderfully. There was a good sense of chemistry between."

Joy Leydon of the Vanity Fair wrote: "An excellent teen film with Amy Collins as the star. This might be another success for Amy Collins after her already near iconic role of Elie in "Legally Blonde". Amy Collins understand the demand of audience and fulfills it perfectly wether being a strong independent woman as Ellie or a loving, religious and faithful lover as Jamie in "A walk to remember". This might be rise of another fanatic fan base."

Mary read all the reviews to Amy who was sitting on the bed listening carefully. After reading all the reviews in her hand, she said: "Its great Amy. More than half of the reviews are about you."

Richard also nodded. It's not an everyday thing you see a female actress getting more praise and hype than the male actor. Men are more than 70 percent contributors to the box office of a movie and they tend to favor a male centred movie more. Its not that female centre movies are not made, they are made but don't get the same exposure as the previous one. And the most difficult scenario is the third one with both male and female leads having equal roles. In such cases, male actors mostly gets the most of credit. It has been decades since an opposite thing happened with the female getting more credit.

Amy was excited hearing Mary's and Richard's words. Now let's hope that the box office also comes out good. Soon the first week box office of "A walk to remember" came out.

"A walk to remember" topped the weekly box office chart with a box office of 17 million $, coming on the first place. It beat the classic "Black Hawk Down" althought the latter had been released for than two weeks.

The distribution department of Warner Bros studio was chaotic. A staff member came running to the office of the department head Jassen Keith. The staff member hurriedly entered the office. "Sir there's an important matter to inform you."

Jasen looked at the hurried staff and asked: "What's the big emergency that you cannot even stand still for a moment."

The staff hurriedly reported: "The box office results of this week came out. Our movie has the first place on ranking beating Columbia's "Black Hawk down"."

"Which movies?" Jassen hurriedly asked. As far as he remembers, they don't have any big project released this week.

"Its Amy Collins "A walk to remember". It topped the box office weekly chart with an income of 17 million $."

Jassen was stunned. He remembers clearly that it was just a small budget movie. How can it explode so much. He took the data from the staff's hand and looked through it. The numbers are correct.

He instructed the department parson responsible: "Increase the number of theaters. I have to inform it to higher ups." he went away like a wind. Its such a good news for the Warner Bros. They have just made a profit with movies like "Ocean Eleven", "A.I :Artificial intelligence" and "Harry Potter". And now this is simply an icing on the cake.

Amy was also enjoying the success of the movie. She was having a shoot for the cover of "People Magezine". Since the last time the sales of "Vogue" exploded, Amy has become a darling of fashion magezines and brands. There are dozens of shoot offers everyday. Of course, Richard only accepts the best for her.

Amy was taking a rest on side while Mary was preparing her drink. Suddenly, two girls came out of nowhere and approached Amy. "Are you Any Collins. We are a big fan of yours."

"Can I get an autograph?"

"I have watched "A walk to remember" more than three times. I will again watch it with my boyfriend on Valentine's Day."

Amy was in a good mood. So she gave the autograph and even chatted with the girls for a while. When the girls went away, Mary came near Amy and teased: "Isn't it wonderful. Amy Colins is going to spend the Valentine day alone while others will watch her's movie."

Any was silent hearing the words. The words of Mary rang in her mind all day.
