Holiday Hijinks and Havoc

I was awakened by Monorakun's 7am alert, and promptly rolled out of bed and stretched. I felt my back pop, and hummed happily to myself. I took off my PJs and went to the closet to get my clothes for the day...

The closet was locked.

I tried to open the closet again, but it was locked tight; the door wouldn't even budge. My dresses, my shoes, and even my tights were all locked inside the closet! I took a few steps back, bewildered. What was going on?

Something caught my eye, at my dorm room door. Turning my head, a feeling of complete confusion overtook me.

There was a hook hanging from the door, one of those cheap plastic ones you sometimes see at stores that attach to the top of the door. On the hook was a complete outfit.

A green dress, fit-and-flare style, appearing to be above-knee in length. The dress also had a lighter green sheer material going up to the elbows, and in a V-shape along the cleavage area (in a sort of illusion neckline that started around the base of the neck, judging from its appearance). The dress itself looked very cute, and was a little bit longer than what I usually wore, which I did not mind.

Picking up the dress, a pair of tights revealed themselves as well. These were white, opaque, and had a green shamrock around the knee area on each leg. I put a hand inside them, and estimated them to be 100 denier, which is what I typically wear when it is not warm out. I switch to 40 denier when the summer months come, as going bare-legged is considered improper by my family. I put on the tights, and sure enough, the shamrock stopped right at my knees. They looked super-cute! I couldn't help but smile and giggle a little bit, despite my current predicament.

My eyes rested on a pair of shoes on the floor. These were green T-Straps, with a white low heel (lower even than the heels I normally wore). I tried them on, and they fit pretty well. I typically am not a fan of T-Straps, but at least I was not forced to wear stilettos or something worse. I could live with these shoes for today.

Walking into the bedroom, I decided to do something different with my hair, for a change. I started braiding my hair into a headband, starting near my temples and working my way towards the back of my head. I then grabbed the two ends of the braids and braided them together tightly, so they would not come out. I left the rest of my hair long.

I left the bathroom and returned to the closet door, and used my E-Handbook to take a full-body picture of me, using the mirror to help, and then flipped the image so I would not be reversed.

Fully dressed, I headed towards the door, where I saw a small camera pointed almost straight down. I put my hand on the doorhandle, but it did not open right away. The camera lit up, then a 'Click' was heard, and the doorhandle turned when I tried it again. Monorakun, apparently, was not kidding about us wearing these holiday outfits to leave our dorms, it seemed.

I decided to head to the Dining Hall to get breakfast, and to see what everyone else was wearing. I was certain this was not a Japanese holiday we were celebrating, but could not come up with what the name of this holiday was. Something American or European, I was certain. Suddenly, I found myself wishing I was more familiar with international holidays. In my profession, there were never any days off, as people still needed their bodies prepared, holidays or not.

Teruteru was walking back into the kitchen when I arrived, wearing his white shirt and chef's hat, but donning a green scarf and apron and black pants. His apron had a large white shamrock on it, and his shoes were also black. He was busy baking something in the oven, judging from the smell coming from within. However, he did not seem to mind his wardrobe for the day, judging from his demeanor.

I awaited everyone else in the Dining Hall, curious as to what everyone else was wearing.

Mondo and Nekomaru were the first to arrive, after me. Nekomaru was green Getas, and a green tracksuit with white lines along the sides of the arms and legs. There was a small white shamrock on the left chest, and a larger white shamrock on the back, with "Nekomaru Nidai" encircling it. Nekomaru still had his chain around his neck, which had a whistle attached to it as well. He seemed largely unbothered by the outfit he wore.

As for Mondo, he was dressed in a white tank top, underneath a green version of his usual biker coat he always wore. He also was wearing green baggy pants, with white loafer shoes. His belt had a shamrock buckle on it. Mondo did not look very thrilled with his outfit, likely due to a biker's preference to wear their own colors.

Hiyoko and Mahiru came into the Dining Hall next, together. Hiyoko was wearing a green kimono, with a white sash going around her waist with small shamrocks all over it. She had on white sandals, and her twintails were held up by shamrock hair clips.

Mahiru, meanwhile, was wearing a very pretty white, sleeveless, square-necked mini dress, over a sheer green blouse. The sleeves went about halfway to her elbows, and there was a narrow green belt around her waist. She wore green thigh high stockings, and when she turned around, I saw small white shamrocks creating a seam along the backs of each leg, before stopping at an alternating green, white, green bands at each stocking top. They really made her legs look great, and the dress itself looked great on her too.

After a few more minutes, Sakura and Tenko entered the Dining Hall, chatting with one another. Sakura had on a green tank top with white gym shorts, with green calf-high lace-up boots. Nothing too special there. As for Tenko, hers was mostly the same outfit, with the blues in her seifuku replaced with green, and a white shamrock on her back. Her skirt was longer and not tiered, though, going to mid-thigh on her. I somewhat felt bad that Monorakun did not get more creative with their outfits, but as martial artists, their appearance probably did not matter as much; their clothing needed to be functional, not necessarily cute.

Korekiyo walked in by himself not too long afterwards. He still had his regular mask covering the bottom half of his face and his hands were still wrapped up, which surprised me, but the rest of his outfit was different. He still had a military-style uniform, but it was a brighter green shirt and boots, with white pants tucked underneath the boots. A green shamrock appeared on each knee, as well as on a white band circling Korekiyo's left arm. If he cared one bit about his uniform's color change, I could not tell from his demeanor, and he spoke not a word of it, or anything else, merely taking a seat at the table and staring out at the kitchen door.

Rantaro and Kyoko each came in next, within a minute or so of each other. Rantaro had on a white T-shirt, featuring a leprechaun holding a beer mug full of shamrocks, and green pants that matched his hair. His shoes were white, and he still had his bracelets on both arms, as well as his necklace. As for Kyoko, she still had on her usual black studded gloves, but the rest of her outfit was different. She had on a white collared, long-sleeved blouse, with a green blazer over it. She also wore a white tie with a green shamrock on it. She also had on green knee-high boots, with white opaque thigh-high stockings, and a green miniskirt. She had her hair tied back in a ponytail, with a shamrock ribbon in the back.

Toko sulked into the Dining Hall slowly, not making eye contact with anyone. She had on a green long-sleeved, calf-length seifuku, with a white ribbon going around her neck. There was a white shamrock on the back of her dress. She also wore white Mary Janes with green socks on her feet, which shuffled back and forth nervously as she sat down.

Fuyuhiko was the last one, cursing up a storm with someone outside. He was dressed in a green business suit with white pinstripes, with black shoes with golden square buckles on top of them. There was another golden square buckle on the white belt going around his waist. He looked, in all honesty, like a blonde, clean-shaven, irate leprechaun.

"The fuck kind of holiday is this, you stupid pile of fur and metal?" I could see Fuyuhiko screaming from the doorway. I could not see Monorakun, but there was no one else here that fit the description.

Monorakun scurried into the Dining Hall and hopped onto the table. He then stood up on his haunches, spread out his arms wide, and loudly proclaimed in his gravely voice, "Happy St. Patrick's Day! I took the liberty of locking your closets while you were sleeping, so you had to wear your St. Patrick's Day outfits for this special holiday!"

Fuyuhiko scoffed. "An Irish holiday where you get drunk and brag about being Irish...are you fuckin' stupid! We're Japanese, not fuckin' Irish, dumbass! Plus, we're not even old enough to drink! What, are you gonna give a bunch of underage kids a bunch of alcohol just for kicks?"

Korekiyo added, "Or are we celebrating the eradication of the pagans by the Christians in Ireland, which is what is really meant by 'driving the snakes out of Ireland'? If so, I know not if any pagans are among us, but this would seem very distasteful for them."

Kyoko responded, "There are some parades held in Tokyo, so this is not completely unheard of in Japan. That said, what is the purpose of forcing us to celebrate a holiday together? Wouldn't that just bring us together, when your goal seems to be getting us to kill one another?"

Monorakun chuckled. "Killing Game or not, today is March 17th, and according to my calendar, that is a holiday. Therefore, we celebrate that holiday!  If you all survive long enough for any other holidays, we'll celebrate those, too!"

Monorakun then hopped off of the table, scurried over towards the door leading out of the Dining Hall, then stopped to face us. "Your closets will be unlocked tomorrow at 7am, so you can go back to wearing your normal clothes if you want. Go do whatever you want, within the rules of course, and remember, everyone's seeing green today, even me! Heh heh heh hee heeeeee!" Monorakun then scurried on all fours out the door.

We all just looked at each other, out of confusion. What did he mean by that? What kind of green could Monorakun be seeing, or did he just mean our outfits for today?

Something about that last line really bothered me...
