Chapter 15: Misinterpreting

"Gemini, do you remember that girl I took to the infirmary the other day?" Milk asked the first year medical student as he sat on the stone table talking to his faculty friends. "The one who had a sprained leg? I think her name was Love?"

Gemini looked up at P'Milk in surprise. He knew who she was, of course he knew the famous hazer from the Faculty of Engineering that everyone loved to gossip about even though they were hella scared of her; but he had never expected that she would come all the way to his faculty to talk to him.

After all, they has only met once, in the infirmary when Love had sprained her ankle…and he had no idea why she was suddenly here to ask questions.

"Dai khab, P'Milk." He nodded. "Is something the matter? Is she hurt again?"

"Mai na," Milk shook her head immediately, so as not to worry Gemini. "She forgot something at the infirmary. So I just wanted to return it to her."

"Ohh." Gemini nodded, holding out his hand. "Do you want me to return it for you?"

"Maichai!" Milk shook her head once more, in fear of giving him the wrong idea. "I'll return it to her myself. Can you just tell me which faculty she's from? Or if you know anyone who can tell me where I can find her?"

Gemini gave her a narrow eyes glance and for a moment, Milk was afraid that he could see right through her.

Why was she so nervous? She was just returning an item that she had lost, wasn't she?

But still, Milk had found herself checking her reflection several times that morning, before she left for college, just to make sure everything was perfect.

She was an athlete, she had hardly cared about her appearance all her life, but suddenly, she was brushing her hair back, making sure her uniform was all ironed and clean and even putting on lip gloss.

All for whom? A tiny girl who had been taking pictures of her for god knows how long.

On anyone else, it would've been a stakerish behavior. But for someone like Nong Love…she found it utterly cute.

In fact, Milk found herself wondering if N'Love had any embarrassing pictures of her at all. Being all sweaty and covered in dust and mud wasn't the best way to be photographed, but somehow, N'Love had made all her pictures look incredibly cute.

All the pictures on this device had been of her playing in the court, where she was supposed to be all messy and sweaty. But surprisingly, all of them had turned out beautiful.

Is that how N'Love saw her? As someone who was beautiful and talented and cool?

It also got her wondering…did she have any photos of her outside of the basketball court. She would love to see them.

"Ummm…khab…" Gemini seemed a little unwilling to give away N'Love's contact as he scratched the back of his neck. "But…would you mind if I make a quick phone call first?"

Milk's brows drew together in confusion. Did he have Love's phone number? Did the two of them know each other? Were they just friends…or was there more going on between them?

Come to think of it…the last time she had seen them together in the infirmary…it definitely seemed like they were more than just casual acquaintances.

"Mai, go ahead." She nodded, making way for Gemini as he went a little further to make the call.

But as Gemini stood, Milk couldn't help but notice his impressive height and the way his physique and personality made heads turn even from a distance.

When she had gone to Nurse June to ask for Gemini, she had instantly known who he was. It wasn't a surprise as he was a medical student, so the college nurse knowing him was pretty normal. However, now she understood that Gemini was known not only by the Nurse but by pretty much all teachers and most students because of who he was.

Gemini was the son of the famous hotelier's Tay Tawan Nimtawat and New Thitipoom Nimtawat and the youngest of the Nimtawat siblings, all of whom were very well known people in the school. In fact, he was considered a genius by most of the faculty.

If he was the one that N'Love was dating then she was going to have some serious com-

She stopped her thoughts right there.

Was she just about to think that Gemini is her… No freaking way! Her and Love?

Milk never cared about the gender of the person who she wanted as her lover. So far, men found her too much to handle since she wasn't one of those people who let a boy open doors for her or pay for her lunch. She could do all that on her own, thank you very much.

And she liked women as well. She considered herself bisexual, not that it was anyone's business who she liked. But she didn't have time to date either with everything going on in her life.

But she had found N'Love pretty…and the way she had taken those pictures of her? Milk definitely wanted to know what was going on inside her head when she took them. Especially when she already had a faen.

Gemini moved to the side call Fourth, who answered on the second ring, "Wha?"

His tone was chirped, like he was irritated at something…which was odd because Fourth was rarely irritated at anything. He's known Fourth for more than two years now, and he rarely got angry at anyone…unless…

"Did you have a fight with Love?" Gemini now sounded amused as Fourth let out a stream of curses.

"Fight? More like we went to war!" Fourth snapped, before his voice turned whiney. "Why does she always have to get me in trouble Gem! She skips class to go do whatever she wants and then her teachers always find me! Why me! P'Pond is in the same faculty! Why not go to him!"

Gemini couldn't help but giggle at his whiney voice. Yes, his Nong FotFot was sometimes too cute for his own good.

"How about I buy you lunch today? Anything you want to make you feel better." He suggested, and Fourth's voice instantly lit up with excitement as soon as he heard the offer.

"Dai khaaabb!" Fourth sang, his mood immediately a lot better, and Gem was yet again surprised at how easy it was to make his faen happy. "So? Why did you call? What did you want to talk about?"

"Ah!" Gem couldn't believe that he had almost forgotten. "Can I tell P'Milk which faculty Love is from? Or give her phone number to P'Milk? She came asking for her just now. I think she forgot something at the infirmary the other day when she sprained her ankle."

Suddenly, Fourth burst out laughing. Gemini looked at his phone in confusion. Did he say something funny?

"Sure, sure!" Fourth was saying when he pressed the phone back to his ears. "Go ahead. Love is obsessed with P'Milk anyway. She would love to see her in front of her. In fact, give her the phone number as well! Damn! I wish I could record her expression when P'Milk shows up at her faculty!"

Gemini shook his head at the childishness. The twins were seriously on another level.

"Alright, Khab." He told Fourth. "I'll do that. See you at lunch."

"See you!"

Gemini finally gave Milk the details she needed and just as fast as she got the info, she was on her way to the Faculty of Fine Arts, to hand over the camera.

For some reason, she couldn't understand why Gemini had been smiling so widely while handing her the address and the phone number. Was there something she was missing?

But that didn't matter, because as soon as she came to a stand in front of her classroom, she met up with a familiar face. "Becky?" Milk looked around. "You're in this class?"

Rebecca Armstrong, the tiny woman with short hair and a British ancestry that gave her the exotics looks of a foreigner, was someone she had often seen around the basketball court in the past. In fact, she was dating Freen, one of their best players.

"P'Milk," Becky joined her hands and bowed in a wai to show her respect. "Chai kha, this is my classroom. What brings you here? Is everything alright with P'Freen?"

"Chai, chai. Freen is doing fine." Milk nodded, so as not to give her the wrong impression. "I was looking for someone…Love? Is she a student here as well?"

"Oh! Panpriya Jirawatthanakul?" Becky nodded enthusiastically. "Chai! She's a friend of mine. But she isn't here yet. I texted her a few minutes ago, so she should be arriving soon. Is there something I can help with?"

Milk noticed how Becky looked a little worried about her friend. "I just have something to talk to her about."

Milk's voice was a tiny bit irritated at having to explain the same thing over and over again to several people. Why did everyone think that she was out to harm Nong Love? Or was her reputation really that scary that everyone wanted to protect her from Milk?

Becky instantly recognized the frustration in her voice so she merely smiled and told her to wait as she ducked into her classroom. Milk didn't like that either, because now she'll have to listen to Freen bite her head off, because she scared her girl.

However, just as she took out the camera from her pocket, the one that she was about to return to N'Love…a voice from behind spoke out to her.

"P'Milk?"

Unfortunately…it got Milk startled enough that the camera fell from her hand and the lens broke into a several pieces.

"Ai Aun!" Pond dumped his bag in the seat beside his best friend. "Why didn't you answer my calls? I've been trying to reach you for the past ten minutes!"

"My cell died." Aun told him tiredly. "I thought I had charged my phone all night, but turns out…I never turned on the switch."

Pond winced at his friend's sorry state. He's been a victim of that circumstance more than a few times, and he knew how awful it could be. But that didn't mean that he wasn't angry about Aun not finishing his sentence in one damn message!

It's about your little crush, Phuwin.

I know where his band is performing tonight.

Those had been the messages that Aun had sent him before his phone had gone dead and Pond had started calling him frantically on the way to his class, after dropping off N'Love, when he had finally seen the messages.

"Tell me!" He said now, eagerly waiting for Aun to finish the rest of his sentence. "Tell me where they are performing! I need to make reservations!"

"Chill, dude!" Aun sighed, looking at the state of his lovesick friend. "I've already booked us a spot. It's nearly afternoon, do you think they would've still had slots if I had waited for you?"

Pond nodded. Aun was right, Phuwin's band, Toxic, was crazy famous among the ladies and the club would usually be filled to the brim on the nights they would perform.

"Thanks man! I own you big time!" Pond said thankfully. "But where are they performing?"

"Venom."

And just like that…Pond's face lost all color while Aun gave him a smirk.

Because Venom was the same club where his Phi Joong went on his singing gigs as well…and he too had a performance there tonight…
