Ryker's eyes narrowed as he sized up his opponents. Meili's eyes flashed with anger, but she kept her cool. "Kai, you've noticed right. He's movements... ," she said, her voice steady and confident.
Kai nodded in agreement, his eyes fixed intently on Ryker. "I'll finish him," he said, his voice low and menacing.
The air was electric with tension as the three combatants faced off against each other. The students watched in awe, their hearts pounding with excitement.
Ryker's smirk grew wider as he dodged and weaved around Meili's and Kai's attacks. Despite his years of training, he couldn't help but feel a twinge of fatigue in his muscles. These two students were better than he had given them credit for.
"Not bad, not bad at all," Ryker said, his voice dripping with amusement. "You two are actually managing to push me back."
Meili and Kai exchanged a fierce glance, their determination to take down Ryker burning brighter than ever.
But just as they were about to launch another attack, Ryker gave a subtle nod to the sidelines. Meili and Kai didn't notice it, but Jaggy, who had been watching the fight with interest, caught the signal immediately.
To Meili's and Kai's surprise, Jaggy suddenly stepped forward, a fierce glint in his eye. But instead of joining forces with them, he positioned himself beside Ryker, his stance clearly indicating that he was there to support his fellow instructor.
"Looks like the odds just got a little tougher," Ryker said, his smirk growing even wider. "Let's see how you two handle a tag-team attack."
Meili's eyes widened in shock as Jaggy stepped forward to support Ryker. "What?? He can really do that. But that's—" she exclaimed, her voice laced with shock and indignation.
Kai swiftly silenced her with a stern warning. "Focus, Meili. We have victory in our sights. So don't mess this up," he cautioned, his eyes locked intently on Ryker and Jaggy.
Jaggy, with a sly grin spreading across his face, began to chant in a low, rhythmic tone. "Well, sorry to be you guys. Cause I don't plan on losing either especially to you, Kai. Bujutsu...Water Strike! Torrential Downpour!" he declared, his voice dripping with amusement.
As he finished his incantation, Jaggy raised his hands, and the water from the giant barrels surrounding the circle began to stir and churn. The liquid surged out of the barrels, forming a massive wave that hurtled towards Meili and Kai with incredible force.
The two students instinctively raised their guards, bracing themselves for the impending impact.
Ryker, seizing the opportunity, charged forward with a fierce battle cry. "Now's our chance! Let's take them down!"
Ryker, taking advantage of the distraction caused by Jaggy's water blast, focused his attention on Meili. He launched a series of swift and precise strikes, his taijustu-enhanced fists flying towards her with deadly precision.
In his mind, Ryker thought to himself, "I need to take Meili out of the circle first. She's the more aggressive one, and if I can take her down, Kai will be more cautious and easier to handle. Plus, Meili's impulsive nature makes her more prone to making mistakes. If I can capitalize on that, I can gain the upper hand."
Meili, anticipating Ryker's attack, raised her sword to block the blows. However, Ryker's taijustu-enhanced strength proved to be too much, and he managed to push her back, inching her closer to the edge of the circle.
Kai, watching the exchange with a keen eye, had already figured out Ryker's motives. He noticed how Ryker was focusing his attacks on Meili, trying to take her out of the circle first. Kai's eyes narrowed, and he began to move forward, ready to intervene.
But just as he was about to make his move, Jaggy launched another bujustu, this time targeting Kai. " Where do you think your going. Bujutsu...Water Strike! Geothermal Blast!" Jaggy shouted, unleashing a blast of heated water that sent Kai stumbling backward.
Kai grunted as the blast of heated water slammed into him, the force of the impact nearly knocking him off his feet. He knew that Jaggy's bujustu was powerful, but he hadn't expected it to be this strong.
WHOOSH
"I need to be more careful," he thought to himself as he regained his balance. "I can't let Jaggy's attacks catch me off guard like that again."
Meanwhile, Meili was still engaged in a fierce exchange of blows with Ryker. She could feel the intensity of his attacks increasing, and she knew that he was trying to push her out of the circle. But Meili refused to give ground, her determination to win burning brighter than ever.
"You're not getting rid of me that easily, Ryker!" she shouted as she dodged a particularly powerful blow. "I want to win this as bad as Kai!"
Ryker's smirk widened as he continued his relentless assault. "I wouldn't expect anything less from you, Meili," he replied, his voice cool and confident. "But I'm afraid your time is up. It's been fun, you did great, but as your opponent it's time to end this."
THUD!!!!
With that, Ryker launched a series of lightning-fast strikes, his taijustu-enhanced fists moving so quickly that they were almost a blur. Meili struggled to keep up with his attacks, and she could feel her defenses weakening under the onslaught.
With a final, powerful blow, he struck Meili with a devastating taijustu-enhanced punch, sending her flying out of the circle.
Meili crashed to the ground, defeated, as Ryker stood panting, his ki energy dwindling. Kai, still reeling from Jaggy's attack, glared at Ryker with a fierce determination, ready to take him on alone.
Kai's eyes locked onto Ryker, his gaze burning with a fierce intensity. Ryker, still panting from his exertions, chuckled and shook his head. "Well, well, well. Looks like someone's got a lot of fight left in them," he said with a grin, his eyes twinkling with amusement.
Kai's face remained Kai's face remained expressionless, but his eyes flashed with a fierce determination. He took a deep breath, focusing his energy and preparing for the battle ahead.
Jaggy, meanwhile, watched the exchange with interest, a sly grin spreading across his face. "This should be good," he muttered to himself, eager to see how Kai would fare against him and Ryker.
Meili dropped to the ground, noticing she was out of the circle. She became frustrated, squeezing the sand beneath her hands. "I couldn't hold out, even if it was just a little longer," she muttered to herself, her eyes fixed on the circle where Kai and Ryker were still facing off. "I thought we could beat him... wait? Kai's still in there—"
Just as Meili was starting to worry about Kai, a group of her friends rushed over to cheer her up. Fuse, Koko, Kagawa, and Ryou all gathered around her, their faces filled with concern and encouragement.
"Hey, don't be too hard on yourself, Meili," Fuse said, clapping her on the back. "You and Kai made a great team. Ryker's just a tough opponent."
"Yeah, and you were doing great out there," Koko added. "I feel bad you had to take on Ryker and Jaggy at the same time. That idiot (Jaggy) didn't even pull any punches."
Meili smiled weakly, feeling a bit better thanks to her friends' support. She looked back at the circle, where Kai and Ryker were still battling it out.
"Let's go, Kai!" Meili shouted, pumping her fist in the air. "You can do it!.. "
Ryker, still grinning, chuckled to himself as he thought about Kai's earlier boasts. "Well, well, well, looks like it's just you and me now, Kai," he said, his voice dripping with amusement. "All that bravado you were spouting earlier seems to be dwindling down to mere whispers. I must say, I'm a bit disappointed. I was expecting a bit more... swagger from the great Kai."
Ryker paused, his eyes glinting with mischief. "But fear not, my young friend. For in this exercise, I shall play the role of the dastardly villain, and you... well, you can try and become plucky hero, desperately trying to save the day."
Ryker's grin widened, his eyes sparkling with amusement. "So, let's see if you can put your money where your mouth is, Kai. Can you take down the big bad villain and emerge victorious?"
Kai stood silently for a moment, his expression unreadable. Sifu Ryker wondered what was going through his mind, and Meili and the others were equally curious.
"How long do you plan on standing there, or have you conceded defeat?" Ryker asked, his tone laced with amusement.
Kai's confidence seemed to surge as he responded, "You don't have to worry about me, Sifu. I have what it takes to take you down. Now that Meili's out of the way, I can fight without holding back."
A grin spread across Kai's face as he spoke, but Meili looked on with a mixture of confusion and disappointment. Ryou's expression turned irritated, clearly displeased with Kai's words.
Ryker, however, remained unfazed. "No, Kai, Meili did an excellent job. In fact, I'd say she created more openings for you than you did for yourself. She fought in a style that complemented yours, and if she had wanted to take me down herself, I believe she would have stood a good chance."
Kai's expression remained resolute. "You can say what you want, Sifu, but I know that relying on someone else in a fight is reckless. Nevertheless, I'm going to take you down right here and now."
Kai's eyes seemed to gleam with intensity as he spoke. "I can see you're shaking, Sifu. You've been in this circle for hours, fighting against blindfolded and no breaks. You take us lightly Sifu. But I've also been holding back, conserving my energy for this moment. Now, it's time for me to unleash my full power and defeat you."
Ryker's expression turned thoughtful, and he nodded in approval. "I love your confidence, Kai. Now, show me what you've got."
With a swift motion, Kai activated his Bujutsu Suspension Plane, suspending himself in mid-air. He levitated effortlessly, his movements fluid and unpredictable.
As Kai hovered above the ground, he simultaneously utilized his unique visual prowess, inherited from the Hanzo clan. He could see Ryker's Kairo threads, which the Sifu used to predict and track his opponents' movements.
With his newfound advantage, Kai skillfully skipped Ryker's Kairo threads, rendering the Sifu's predictive abilities useless. Ryker's eyes widened in shock as he realized what had happened.
Ryker looked around rapidly, his eyes darting back and forth. "What...how?" he muttered, clearly stunned.
Kai's grin grew wider as he beheld Ryker's shock. He knew that he had gained the upper hand, and he was determined to press his advantage.
Ryker's eyes finally locked onto Kai, his gaze piercing as he studied his student. "How did you...?" he trailed off, his voice barely above a whisper.
Kai's eyes seemed to gleam with intensity as he hovered in mid-air. "You underestimated me, Sifu," he said, his voice dripping with confidence. "I've been holding back, waiting for the perfect moment to strike."
Ryker's face set in a determined expression, but his movements were slower and more labored than before. He was clearly struggling with fatigue, but he refused to give up.
With a gentle smile, Ryker took a step forward, his eyes locked onto Kai. "Let's see how long you can keep this up, Kai," he said, his voice calm and measured.
Kai's Suspension Plane allowed him to dodge and weave around Ryker's slow but deliberate attacks. He was in complete control, and Ryker was starting to tire.
Meili and the others watched in awe, their eyes glued to the action unfolding before them. They knew that Ryker was a formidable opponent, but Kai's unique abilities and strategy were proving to be more than a match for him.
As the sparring continued, it became clear that Ryker was running out of steam. His movements were slower and more labored, and Kai was taking advantage of every opening.
It was only a matter of time before Ryker would be forced to leave the circle, and Kai would emerge victorious. But as Kai was beginning to enjoy the edge he had in the match, Ryker suddenly pulled off his blindfold, a warm smile spreading across his face.
"I think that's enough, Kai," he said, his voice calm and measured. "You've proven your point. I admit defeat."
The students gasped in shock, their eyes wide with surprise. Kai's eyes narrowed, his face darkening with anger. "You're giving up?" he spat, his voice laced with disgust. "You're not even going to try harder?"
Ryker's smile never wavered. "I'm not giving up, Kai," he said. "I'm admitting defeat. There's a difference. I know I don't have what it takes to keep holding back my Bujutsu against your explosive moves. You've proven yourself to be a formidable opponent, and I'm proud of you."
Kai's anger only seemed to grow. "You're proud of me?" he repeated, his voice dripping with sarcasm. "You're proud of me for beating you? That's just pathetic."
Kai's eyes blazed with intensity, his voice rising in indignation. "I wasn't even close to finishing. I had so much more to show. I promised to humiliate you, to push you out of the circle and prove my superiority. But you just... gave up."
Ryker's expression turned serious, his eyes locking onto Kai's. "Kai, I think you're misunderstanding the situation," he said. "This isn't about winning or losing. This is about growth and improvement. And you've shown tremendous growth and improvement today."
But Kai was beyond reason. His anger and frustration had consumed him, and he was unable to see the bigger picture.
Kai's abrupt departure left an awkward silence in the arena. The other students looked on, unsure of how to react. Meili's expression was a mixture of disappointment and concern, while Ryou and Jaggy looked outright angry.
Ryker, however, seemed unfazed by Kai's behavior. He turned his attention to the rest of the students, a warm smile spreading across his face.
"I'm proud of all of you," he said, his voice filled with sincerity. "You've all shown tremendous growth and improvement, and I'm honored to be your instructor."
The students looked at each other, then back at Ryker, their faces lighting up with pride and gratitude.
Ryker's expression turned serious, his eyes locking onto the students. "Remember, in a real battle, there's no room for pride or any other kind of emotions. The moment you let your emotions cloud your judgment, you become vulnerable.
In a real battle, you won't have the luxury of getting scared, nervous, sad, angry or frustrated. You'll need to stay focused, calm, and composed, no matter what's happening around you. Because the moment you let your emotions take over, you'll become a liability to yourself and your allies."
Ryker's eyes seemed to bore into the students' souls, his voice taking on a somber tone. "I've seen it all happen before, in battles where comrades have fallen because they let their emotions cloud their judgment, most of them dies. Don't make the same mistake. Stay focused, stay calm, and always keep your wits about you."
The students nodded, taking Ryker's words to heart. Meili, in particular, looked thoughtful, her eyes clouded with concern for her friend Kai.
Meili stood lost in thought for a little while, her eyes gazing off into the distance. Ryker noticed her introspective mood and walked over to her, a gentle smile on his face.
"Meili, you did exceptionally well today," he said, his voice low and encouraging. "I was impressed by your ability to notice my Kairo threads and adapt your strategy accordingly. That takes a lot of skill and intuition."
Meili's eyes refocused on Ryker, a hint of a smile on her face. "Thank you, Sifu," she said, her voice soft. "I was trying to pay attention to your movements and anticipate your attacks."
Ryker nodded, his eyes shining with approval. "You and Kai both showed a lot of potential today. I'm proud of you both." He paused, his expression turning thoughtful. "Although, I do think Kai needs to work on his temper. Anger can be a powerful ally, but it can also be a deadly enemy."
Ryker asked, "He's your squadmate, isn't he?"
Meili nodded, adding, "Along with Fuse."
Ryker's expression turned thoughtful. "I'm sure it can be challenging to have someone like Kai on your team."
Meili let out a laugh. "He can be a real handful, Sifu. A total pain, sometimes."
Ryker chuckled. "Well, by now, I'm sure you're aware of the kind of warrior he is. I'm impressed that you're able to work with him despite his... prickly personality. Not everyone can keep up with a talented, yet difficult, individual like him. Your patience and ability to believe in your comrades are truly admirable."
Meili smiled, looking relieved. "Thank you, Sifu. I'll keep doing my best."
Ryker nodded, a warm smile on his face. "Good," he said. As Meili walked away, Ryker thought to himself, "This set of warriors is surely one to watch. Hibiki was right. I have no doubt that this talented group of Iron Fist warriors will achieve great things."
As the sun began to set on the Iron Fist training grounds, casting a warm orange glow over the students and surroundings, a sense of calm settled over the group. Ryker's words of encouragement still lingered in the air, and Meili felt a renewed sense of determination.
Meanwhile, at the Iron Fist healing center, a man with strong Hanzo attire, exuding an air of authority, stepped into the room. "Greetings, General Fei!" Sifu Yagushi said, bowing respectfully as he stood in front of the door to welcome him.
General Fei's expression was stern, his eyes narrowed with concern. "Sifu Yagushi, I've come to check on my daughter, Lei. I've received word that her health is not progressing as well as we had hoped."
Sifu Yagushi's face remained impassive, his voice firm. "Yes, General Fei. Lei's condition is... complicated. But I can assure you, our healers here are doing the best they can and won't rest till our dear student Lei is well."
The air was thick with tension as the two men locked eyes, their mutual dislike and distrust palpable.
"I'd rather not waste time on small talk, Sifu Yagushi," General Fei said, his voice firm and authoritative. "Take me to my daughter. I want to see for myself what's causing the delay in her recovery."
Sifu Yagushi's expression remained unyielding, his voice firm. "As you wish, General Fei. I'll have one of the healers escort you to Lei's room."
He nodded to one of the nearby healers, who bowed and stepped forward. "This way, General Fei."
As General Fei followed the healer, Sifu Yagushi's eyes narrowed, his gaze lingering on the general's back.
As General Fei disappeared from view, Sifu Yagushi's eyes remained fixed on the spot where he had last seen him. His expression was a mask of calm, but his mind was racing with thoughts of the impending confrontation.
The healer, sensing the tension, quickened his pace, leading General Fei deeper into the healing center. The sound of their footsteps echoed down the corridor, growing fainter with each passing moment.
Finally, they stopped in front of a door, and the healer pushed it open, revealing a dimly lit room. Lei lay alone on her bed, her gaze fixed on the window as she slowly stirred. General Fei's eyes locked onto his daughter, "Lei," he said, his voice firm and even.
