The tension in the room suddenly changed as the two of them got seated. "Jack, he's been like that for hours now. Are you sure we should just let him be?" The head of the guild looked over at Cherryl. "Wow, it has been a long time since you used my given name. But you can trust me, I've lost a fair amount of people in both of the worlds and the most important thing sometimes is to be alone. The decision I made is based on his personality." Jack looked over Cherryl's shoulder and onto the wall behind her. "If you listen, you can't even hear him anymore. He must have fallen asleep, in fact, his friend might even be alive right now. We don't really have a clue on what happened. But, the adventurers I sent should be back with a report on the situation. We might find some clues, if you're so eager to help him." Cherryl stared down onto the knees that she held her hands ever so tightly on. "Yeah, I guess that you are right."
Yotsuya, was in fact, not asleep. He was still as deep in thought as he was hours ago, trying to find every little fault and reason to put more blame on himself, finding reason in what had happened. He was filled with despair through and through, his eyes looked as if they didn't have a soul in them and not a single muscle in his face activated. He was neither calm nor angry, he didn't even know what the feeling he was experiencing even was. During the multiple hours that had passed, out of all the different stages of grief that he was experiencing, he was now at the fourth. The denial that Velios might still be alive, the anger from how little he could do, bargaining that Velios might still be alive even though he knew that the odds were massively against him and the furthest so far, the depression he was experiencing from blaming himself, losing someone close to him and realizing that the only person who ever mattered to him, that ever accepted him, laughed with him and ate with him, was now gone and would never return.
The discussion between Jack and Cherryl stopped as the door swung open and an adventurer, clearly out of breath, ran into the room. "Boss! You couldn't believe what we found!" Jack and Cherryl both listened as the adventurer kept on reporting on what had happened, leaving both of them dumbfounded. "Wait, wait, wait. Slow down. So you mean that the dungeon was cleared, solo, by Suya?" The adventurer nodded with a smile on his face. "We couldn't find any other person that could have been involved in the dungeon raid, which we came to a conclusion of that they more than likely died inside the dungeon as no body was seen where the dungeon would have been. This means that that Suya adventurer beat the Dungeon of Demise solo, most likely losing the rest of his party. We're finally saved from that hellish dungeon!" Jack was at a loss for words, trying to figure out what to do next. "You may now be dismissed, the rewards for your mission may be collected down at our counter from available staff." After the adventurer had left, Jack sank his head down, staring directly down at the wooden floor, thinking: What am I going to do now?
Jack kept on talking to himself. This made Cherryl concerned as she hadn't seen Jack like that. "Hey, Jack, are you ok-" Her question was abruptly stopped by a loud voice that could be heard from anywhere. "Achievement system, activated." It sounded like a robotic female speaking into a microphone. "A worldwide announcement is now being made, every person in the entire world is now capable of hearing this, this announcement will not stop until further notice." Jack, Cherryl, all of the adventurers in the guild, in town, even Yotsuya, stopped what they were doing to listen to what was being said. "The special criteria to unlock "magic" have now been completed. First individual has unlocked magic. The name of the individual is "???" and is the first person to ever unlock magic and achieved it by attaining multiple other achievements. Lists of biggest achievements are as follows: Being the first individual to kill a high ranking beast, being the first individual to win against a high ranking intelligent monster, being the number one ranked strongest player, being the number one fastest player and being the number one ranked durability player. Individual "???" is also the only individual who has met one of the ten sovereigns and survived. It is because of all these great achievements and the hardships he had to go through to achieve these that "???", made it possible for magic to now exist in the world."
The more than hearable voice ceased to be as quick as it had appeared. It left the whole world literally at a loss for words. Most people had guesses on which people it could be, what a "sovereign" was and what voice it was that was speaking, but no one would ever truly figure all of it out. Back in the room, Jack and Cherryl stared at each other with both jaws hanging down to the floor as they just stared at each other. "J-Jack, w-what just happened?" Her voice trembled with confusion and uncertainty. "To be completely honest with you, Cherryl. I have absolutely no fucking idea." Both of them thought deeply as to all of the information they had received. It did not take them long after the announcement that they wrote down every bit of information that they received, word for word, before trying to figure out what all of it was and how every single individual word had its importance.
Yotsuya, however, looked like he had been brought to life as if he had been dead all along. What am I doing? Sitting here and crying, what's that going to do for me? Would Velios be the type of person to sit and bawl and blame himself for what happened or do something about it? Yotsuya was still sitting on the bed but now with a completely different look in his eyes. He made his way out of the bed, slowly walking up towards the room where Cherryl and Jake were with crutches in both of his hands. The two of them were still inside, trying to figure out every bit of information. As the door opened, they couldn't help but shake as they saw Yotsuya with a somewhat calm look in his eyes. "Hey, Suya, are you ok-" His sentence was cut short as he met eyes with Yotsuya. "Call me Yotsuya. And also, give me one of the harder killing quests, I'll be going solo hunting tonight." Yotsuya may have had a calm look on his face, his eyes were fierce and determined. "You can't possible be serious, you are still gravely injured and you just lost your friend, don't go and pull of a suicide." Jack's voice became more quiet during the last few words. "Sorry for not telling you at a better time, but we can confirm that Velios' body was not found, or the dungeon." This managed to shake Yotsuya. Even though he knew that Velios was most likely dead.
What happened to the dungeon? They're only meant to collapse if they're beaten. Guess it was tired of killing so many humans or something. "Hey, old man. I'll be going out for a little while but don't worry, I'll be back soon." Jack stood up and tried to stop him. "Where are you going? You're still gravely injured." Yotsuya opened the door slightly. "Relax, I'm only going to go get my swords at the blacksmith. They should be done now." Yotsuya refrained from talking any further as he grabbed onto his crutches and walked out the door. The walking was painfully slow and it didn't help that his whole body was hurting like hell. In the middle of the road, completely empty with not a single person outside, the stars were shining ever so bright. As Yotsuya stopped, he decided to look up at the stars, stopping to think to himself. A sudden anger suddenly filled his entire body, thinking about the sacrifices Velios made, getting memories that he didn't remember even being in. He suddenly vowed something, screaming out not only a statement, but a promise. "I won't stop until every single one of the ten sovereigns have drawn their last breath!"
