The Start Of It

The king hadn't seen the sudden attack coming at all. He was simply too overconfident and therefore had to pay the price. The flesh on his body was all ripped up, and the fibers in his muscles and bones were almost completely destroyed. He couldn't even hear the worried screams coming from down below, as the city folk were worried for the king's safety more so than their own. Velios' scream alone had caused destruction to buildings, windows broke, and multiple people who were too close were left injured in some way or another. The king's skin was ripped up, and blood was rushing down the left side of his body. He had completely lost his hearing, and he showed no signs of it returning anytime soon. The king couldn't even move anymore. His body was so damaged that there was no point in trying to escape. He could neither defend himself nor attack Velios in the state he was in. The most he could do was minimize the damage.

Velios had suddenly appeared slightly above and in front of the damaged king. The king couldn't notice him before it was too late. Velios launched his own knee with the intent to go straight through the king's chest. The knee landed right below the king's solar plexus with him having had no time to defend himself. The king felt as if his body could have been split in two if Velios added just a tiny bit more force. Velios knew on impact that the damage the king had received from the knee would have been fatal for most. He didn't even use mana at all, yet the king's ribcage had almost completely shattered, one of his lungs had been punctured as a result of the damage done, and parts of his digestive system had been completely destroyed. The blood and spit the king couldn't help but throw up covered Velios as the king's body flew straight down, crashing into multiple buildings, leaving holes as wide as five meters and even completely obliterating two houses. The king had finally landed on the road as the stone that built it was destroyed in an instant. The king's body continued to go until he finally stopped in the middle of a crowded street, barely on the verge of being alive.

For the bystanders, it was a gruesome and cruel sight to behold. The amount of blood covered the nearby streets and buildings made it look like a blood bath while it was only a single individual. The onlookers' faces were terrified after seeing that it was none other than their own king, beaten up half to death with half his body torn apart to a degree where he almost wasn't recognizable. Even if the king was conscious, he would still not be able to hear the screams of terror that unfolded. Out of the crowd, there were a few individuals who were rather slow on the incident that just unfolded. Even so, everyone still managed to locate the direction the king had been flung from as the single individual who was responsible for the state the king was in still in the air, looking down upon every single dragon there. A man clad in the purest black, clothes that looked soft and baggy yet as hard as steel, and a cloak befitting that covered the man's face through the help of a shadow. Not a single dragon knew who it truly was since they had never seen anyone alike. Except for a few of them.

"Hey... Don't you recognize that cape... and those clothes?" A woman's voice could be heard, talking to her fellow friends. "Don't tell me... He's that powerful? To beat this kingdom's king...?" A man's voice responded. In total, there were six of them who knew exactly who the mysterious individual was, and it's not like they weren't familiar with him. All of them looked up, shocked at the sight of the apparent winner of the fight with the king severely hurt just a few meters next to them. They had no words to express what they were feeling in the moment. None of them knew just how strong Velios was. As they continued looking, they realized that Velios wasn't even hurt. His clothes only had a single small cut at the end of Velios' cloak. But truly not even a single one of them had seen Velios' true power. He hadn't even been going serious with the king to catch him off guard. Just the sight of the individual in the air looking down upon the dragons had left every single one of them in fear. The screams spread like a disease, and in the end, total chaos had been created. Everybody was in extreme panic and anxiety that one of them was going to be next.

Velios disappeared fast enough so that no one could see where he went. The calm and still sky were now completely quiet. The dragon king's enemy had got away, and the sky was now completely empty. Even though there was still a possibility that the individual was now amongst the crowd, it was as if an immense pressure had been lifted from each and every one of their shoulders. As to tell that he was gone completely. The crowd had slowly calmed down, and everyone rushed to check on the king's well-being. Shouts were exchanged, and mountains of people came out of nowhere to transfer him to the nearest hospital. The six of them, the criminals, were still standing there and staring into the air, the most shocked out of everyone. They had also realized how lucky they had been that Velios had decided to spare them. They were still confused at what Crow had reported that Velios had said about himself earlier and now Velios had beaten the king of their kingdom to an almost death state. They still had yet another question they wanted answers to. Where did Velios go?

Velios had rushed back straight to the Royal Palace. Upon arrival, he was greeted by a worried Ragaja. "I can't believe you just did that. And how are you already back? Don't tell me..." Ragaja watched as Velios landed right besides him. "Don't worry. I didn't go overkill this time; I only left him on the verge of death. With his abilities, I'm sure he can make a recovery sooner or later." Velios said it so casually while looking around the room they were in, while Ragaja was so shocked he was left speechless. "On another topic, where is Ajagar? Didn't she come here with you?" Velios walked up to Ragaja, who had fallen on his butt from shock, to help him properly stand up. "So you're saying that you beat up the king, the strongest warrior in this kingdom, and it doesn't even bother you?! You've effectively turned the whole plan of you staying conspicuous useless! Now everyone in this entire city is against you! Do you realize what- ...Don't just act so casual about this!" Velios put Ragaja on his back preparing to escape. "Shiva! Come here, we're going!"

Ragaja fell off Velios' back as a reaction to hearing that name. A black cat jumped up on Velios' shoulder. "What's up with that guy?" Ragaja had only heard stories of the demon named Shiva, a demon so powerful that he almost destroyed the whole kingdom and was only sealed with the help of multiple mages. "Don't tell me..." Ragaja could sense that the cat wasn't anything remotely close to normal. Not only did it speak, but the amount of mana felt suffocating. Ragaja couldn't bother with Velios anymore. First, he learned magic to make himself invisible to sneak up on the king talking, and when he and the king actually fought, he won a sky-battle basically unscathed, and now he's returned with the same demon that almost brought the city to an end. He didn't even know what to do anymore. Ragaja got picked up by Velios once again. "What's got into you all of a sudden? We still need to get out of here before anybody comes." Velios picked him up by the other shoulder and disappeared immediately.

All of the dragons watched as the injured king got carried away on a stretcher. Worried faces spread across the crowd's faces as they all bore witness to the state the king was in. The layers of bandages could barely hold his ripped skin together, and even if they trusted that he was going to get better, it was so cruel that many of them couldn't even get themselves to face the reality. For the ones who were more observational, they noticed the bleeding from his ear and just exactly how destroyed his body was. You could easily see the deformations on the body from repeated attacks. They had realized long before but were scared to admit it. If the strongest fighter in the city couldn't defeat them, then the combined forces might even not be enough.
