How did I end up here? Velios knew the answer to his question, but he still pondered about the unlikelihood of something similar happening. He had been carried and dragged for hours, a rope having been tightly spun around his body to ensure that he didn't escape.
"Are we there yet?" Velios had grown impatient, but he knew better than anyone that he would get lost if he were to decide to go to the city he had planned to. The only reason he was willing to stay was that the people who had captured him were going to the same city that he wanted to go to. He thought that he might as well tag along until he's there, getting out and escaping whenever he felt like it.
"Why did we have to capture that guy again? I don't think there were any requests to take him out, or did I miss anything?" One of the people riding the carriages was tired of listening to Velios asking how much time they had left until arrival. "Boss's orders, apparently... he probably said something bad, and don't fret over him being impatient. He'll probably get tortured to death either way." They collectively looked back at Velios, who didn't even look like he was listening, without a care in the world.
"...At least I hope that's what happens to him..." The same one was talking this time. Velios had noticed a strange pattern between these different individuals. It looked like some sort of organization, and he thought about killing them if they happened to be evil but decided to wait until he at least got to the city.
The boss is probably that girl from before. I don't even know why she got mad. It's not like she was good at hiding that fact. Anyways, I wonder who these guys are. They're giving me the same kind of vibe as those criminals in the dragon city... just, more human. They're all wearing robes and cloaks and layers upon clothing, but it's not like I can't see what they actually look like. Let's just wait it out and see what happens; I can still train while locked up so that shouldn't be a problem... I wonder what Vadh and them are doing now. They might even have gone looking for me... hope they don't kill the humans back there... or at least I hope they don't.
Velios could eventually see the city they had been talking about. It was without a doubt the biggest city he had ever seen. Even Velios was shocked at its size, especially when you factor in that it couldn't have taken more than the several months they had spent in the game.
"Looks like we're finally here... It's even bigger than I remember last time. It has the title 'Capital of the world' for a reason. It was the first man-made city that reached a million citizens, the city of Alexandria!" He was awfully enthusiastic when speaking of the city, much more than when he was speaking to Velios. Velios temporarily stopped what he was doing to properly take in what he was seeing. It was gigantic, to say the least, and it covered a huge, open field surrounded by the natural landscape. It was many miles away from the dragon city and would likely not have been attacked for a while because of that distance; they unconsciously and accidentally chose a great place to build a mega city.
The houses were all built with a medieval style, having probably had a great amount of resources to expand quickly; the nature around made that part easy. Most buildings were either only one or two stories tall but took up a lot of place and covered it. The streets were bustling full of people walking through, many successful markets having been created; it also holds the nickname "The city of Commerce" because of this. This city stands as the pinnacle of human resources, powers, and technology from all around the world, boasting the biggest army, most thriving adventurers guild, and even a set of individuals who rule all of it.
Velios didn't have any words to describe what he saw, and if he tried, he would have to talk multiple times to try and catch every single detail in a reasonable amount of words. Velios didn't know much about architecture, but even he saw it as an impressive feat, wanting to know and learn more about its short but eventful history.
Upon entering the city, the carriage continued to roll through the streets like normal with multiple others both in front and in the back of themselves. No one saw it as normal, and no one could see him, wrapped up in ropes to prevent any attempts to escape.
"Where are we going?" Velios yet again showed a sign of impatience but also curiosity. The further in they were getting towards the giant center of the city where a tall and magnificent building was located, the bigger the houses were becoming. Most of them were different variations of stores; some were organizations and some were entertainment. Velios thought that most of it looked pretty normal to him yet completely new. He hadn't left his home country for all of his life and he was rarely in regular cities to begin with for multiple reasons, only finding himself there in search of supplies, equipment, and knowledge.
"Just stay quiet. We're almost there."
Velios couldn't actually see, but he knew that they were taking a strange path. They had disconnected from the main road minutes ago and were taking turns left and right, going to the outer edge of the city.
"Put this on, or we'll use force." The other person who had mostly stayed quiet gave him a blindfold, which Velios agreed to put on either way, knowing that he could perfectly navigate and see what was going on with his other senses anyway.
"Don't die too quickly, okay?" Their voice had a hint of compassion but still serious. They felt bad for him, knowing what was most likely awaiting him as they continued their way. No normal person would be able to tell, but they were underground, beneath the city. It reeked of alcohol and was almost the exact opposite of the city above. The people above ground had clean and well-kept clothes, expensive armor and equipment, and an overall friendly atmosphere. The underground city seemed to be the exact opposite, for most people were people of poverty and weakness gather.
Velios was being dragged on the ground before being thrown inside a cell. Velios didn't even bother landing properly as it didn't matter since it wouldn't hurt him anyway.
"You'll stay here for quite some while. If you're lucky, you might even live for a week... Bye bye." Velios was left behind as the rest of them disappeared. He took off his blindfold, throwing it to the side before easily ripping the ropes off.
"This city sure looks interesting. I can even sense magic around the kingdom. Well, I'll see what things there are to do. Might even join the adventurers guild. Going to need money if I stay here. Anyways, gotta go before anybody finds me." Velios raised his arm slightly before completely disintegrating the iron bars, leaving no trace of them ever being there before disappearing completely.
The two members who had brought Velios back were walking towards the room with the throne where they were supposed to meet the boss. Upon opening the door, they stopped halfway, hearing that she was already talking to another member, sounding irritated.
"I've already told you, I'm not going to accept them! Do they think I'm unkillable or something, huh?!" They sounded irritated, restlessly walking around the room to calm down. "But we can't ju-" "I don't care if they pay top money, it's basically a suicide mission... If we get any more requests surrounding either of those fice, I won't do it. The strength those five hold is unimaginable, and not even we know nothing about one of them, and they expect us to try and kill them with the help of a few extra Karons?" The member she was talking to was too afraid to speak out of line.
"We have no information about player '???' and the other four are different kinds of individuals. I could probably take down Arthur if I caught him by surprise, but he isn't the problem... The problem is the vice-leader of their guild, Yotsuya. I won't even go over the other two and you know why. Now go, you're not the only member here, scram."
The two members pushed the door open, letting the member that was already in there walk outside while waiting for their turn to walk inside. After the boss had looked toward their direction, they noticed that they were not in a good mood and really needed to take out their anger on something.
"Boss, we're here to report on the guy we transported here." The one who was talking stood proudly, trying to stay as calm in the face of a person so strong that he could get his head sliced off without knowing. "Report." The boss' voice was cold and had a slight hint of irritation.
"We've put him in one of the cells. He's currently tied up and he has a blindfold on. During our ride, he showed no signs of resisting and remained calm. If you want, we can-" The boss was walking toward the person talking, walking past them without doing anything. "...I'll teach that guy a lesson..." The boss tried to hide it, but their frustration was imminent. They tried to open the door but from a single push, it had been destroyed beyond repair.
Upon having walked down there, no words had been spoken. When they arrived, the boss was the first to notice. "You told me he was here, no? So tell me, where is he?" They turned their gaze toward the taller one, looking him dead in the eye before turning their vision back to the destroyed cell, bars having completely disappeared with only a rope and a blindfold laying on the cold stone flooring.
"What?! No, no! He was here just a mome-" Without a second's notice, the boss had got a grip on the person's head before slamming it into a nearby wall, immediately sending them unconscious leaving only behind a faint sound of the pain. "Find him... Find that guy no matter what, you understand...?" Their voice had changed tone, it was full of anger, frustration, and irritation. Sounds of teeth grinding against each other were faint but were also hearable. "Y-yes! Huan- I mean boss!" The boss gave the girl a final look before releasing the grip of the other member's head, letting his unconscious body fall to the ground, leaning against a wall where a trail of blood had been left behind.
