No Trust

Velios pushed his hands on the sides of his head, shaking his hair while talking to himself. His right arm was bloody and the blood was slowly being mixed in with his hair as he kept on rubbing his head. "Why does it always end like this...? I could just run after her and heal her up but that'd just scare her even more. Why does my body react to danger so violently? I guess it has saved me times before. Was I so tired that I thought that her dagger would hurt me?" Velios didn't even bother running after her, doubting that his attack had caused any irreversable damage, seeing as he had only cut off one arm. He stopped rubbing his hands, removing the hair from his sight before looking around. My hair has become pretty long as of recent... and thick. Still, I did cause a mess this time, didn't I? Nope, not me. If memory serves correct, it was actually Ragaja who destroyed those mountains, not me. Velios fully remembered that he was the one who had punched Ragaja into them, but he hadn't personally touched them at all, disregarding his last attack at least.

She kept running and she couldn't stop. Her mind was running wild and every thought felt like random words put together. She wasn't able to make sense of them at all. She didn't know how far she had ran and she didn't know how long she had planned to run either. She was tightly holding what remained of her arm tightly, trying her best to make sure that the bleeding would slow down. Despite the stress and shock she was experiencing, her understanding of the surroundings made it easy for her to run as fast as she could before she eventually stopped. She had collapsed behind a tree, her adrenaline having carried her most of the way, her legs collapsing under her as a sign of the intense running. Her breathing heavy, struggling to catch her own breath with every passing second. Her back resting against the side of the tree slowly began gliding as she eventually reached the ground, sitting against it, feeling that she was far away enough for any sort of danger.

What was that?! What happened?! I was sure... I was sure I attacked him! Who was it...? Was it someone else? No, I was the only person there... except for him? That guy... wasn't he supposed to be unconscious? Did he do anything- The pain from her severed arm had slowly began to reappear and it was made apparent that the pain was only nullified thanks to the previous rush of adrenaline. That adrenaline had now disappeared. She ripped of pieces of her clothing to stop the bleeding further, tightly wrapping it around the wound. Even after getting minutes to rest and recuperate, she wasn't sure of what had happened. The aura that was being emitted made it almost impossible to see who it was in the beginning. She could only see a faint outline and she wasn't sure of how she even knew who it was. Either way, in the condition she was in, further fighting would only result in further strain, even if the person she was fighting against was weaker and there was no chance that she would be able to finnish her original mission.

"Are you sure you're okay? I can heal that arm for you." A man's voice could be heard from behind her. In an instant, she gained enough distance to feel safe while having thrown mutliple daggers, but to her surprise, none of them had hit, rather, none of them even existed anymore. They were somehow gone, erased. She hadn't been able to sense the person's presence either before after they had initially spoken towards her. As she continued observing the person in front of her, she noticed that the terrifying aura that was surrounding him had fully disappeared as if it had never existed in the first place, making her own vision crystal clear once again. She didn't know what to do. She was stuck in between options and neither of them were fully good. She had no idea of who the person in front of her actually was, only remembering that they had met once.

"Are you sure you don't want-" Velios didn't know why she would be so afraid of him, especially since he was talking in such a casual way, smiling wholeheartedly while doing so. But she didn't say anything. She kept on breathing heavily trying to decide on what to do. Even her thinking was being disrupted by her uncalm compossure. Can I fight him? How strong is he? There's no way that he's actually stronger than me, right? But, how did he appear behind me before? It was like he teleported. He wasn't even afraid of me back then... Who is he, really? And what was that strange aura from before? It felt similarly to magic, but... no, there's no way it could have been. Not even the strongest monsters I've faced have had even close to the amount of magic but still, what was that...? She pulled out a weapon with her remaining arm, getting ready to fight if only necessary. "Who are you!?"

"I'm afraid you're going to have to ask more specifically. What am I even supposed to say?" Velios was confused but when he tried to move closer, she raised her dagger further while pointing it at him. "W-who are you!?" She asked the same question and asked nothing further. Velios was unsure of what he was supposed to answer. The two of them were stuck in a stand-off, both knowing nothing off the other person. She knew better than to trust anyone but if Velios were to have a weapon while having the advantage of not being injured, it wouldn't end well for either of them. She was confident she could take on and kill almost anybody, even if it was a one-on-one. But, something that she was almost unparalled in was knowing how likely she was to be able to survive something, an expert in decision making. That's why she always trusted herself. Her body and mind told her to move, to attack, to survive and get out of there, but her soul told her differently. "Don't get on this man's bad side."

"Listen, I'm just trying to be nice and apologise for... doing what I did." Velios stood there, looking forward towards the girl who seemed to be overly cautious of him. Her stance was wide, her damaged side was intentionally put away from Velios, having her being constantly on guard. "Stay away! Stay right where you are and don't come closer!" She was relentless. She couldn't fight in the state which she was in and she could just escape, but something was telling her that it'd be even worse that way. "Why are you even trying to help me?! Are you saying it was you that cut off my arm?!" She was screaming at the top of her lungs. Her breathing was still heavy and her voice began to break nearing the end of her sentence. "And what was that aura that was being emitted from you?!"

Velios stopped walking towards her as he began to process what was being said. Wait... did I not conceal my mana? She saw it? What am I supposed to say now? I could just leave her out of here alone, but what if a monster comes? I can't just leave her after having hurt her. I think she also reminds me of someone, but I can't remember who... Velios didn't know what to respond with to her question as more thoughts began surging into his own mind and before long, he had forgot all of the questions she had asked. Velios continued standing there, zooning out while starring towards her direction. When Velios eventually came back, his eyes began focusing on what was in front of him again, only to see that she was gone.

The alleyways were crummy and small and the air was dirty. Sounds of people walking, talking, screaming, shouting and begging were all echoing throughout the place. Eventually, a tired girl pushed the door open, making the sides of it barely open, just enough for her to enter. "Huan! What happened?!" A man came running towards her, standing in the same room as her even before she had came. Huan had fallen face first, barely having been quick enough to minimize the landing with the one arm she had remaining. "Y-your arm! What happened during the mission?!" His voice was full of worry, rushing to her side to roll her over to her back before lifting her head. "I'd like to know that for myself." Huan tried to stand up but her legs refused to work. "Don't worry, I'm fine. I just need a little.. rest..." She had no energy remaining. It had taken hours to get back and she hadn't stopped for a single second. Never before has she needed to run as much as she needed today and even worse, only one time had she ever been as scared as she was today.

She eventually woke up, laying in her own bed. She tried to sit up but couldn't and when she looked around the room she noticed that she was alone. What was I even thinking before? The shock must have affected my thinking. I could've easily taken down that guy from before, even if I'd had lost an additional leg. Still, why was I so afraid? Was I scared? No, no way. Someone like that would never scare me. Probably just another result from the sudden severence of my arm. I've only seen a handful of individuals that have made me rethink certain missions. So there's no way some random no-name player like him could be strong. I don't even remember seeing him in the nearby cities citizen records either so he probably isn't even that important. That's probably it, yeah.
