"Well, it was expected that some of them would die. After all, they're barely stronger than those human trash, only feeding off them so I guess it's resonable that they were killed in battle, not that I care about avenging those no-rank demons." The demon had his eyes towards the direction where Velios once stood, now nothing of him remaining big enough for the eye to see. The demon brushed some dust and ashes off of his shoulders and clothes before looking around him, taking in the mana dome which he had created. He smiled to himself, not the kind of smile that people tend to gravitate to, but one that most people avoid. The mana dome had a unique climate to it. The air itself was foggy, red and suffocating and the ground had a very dark red color to it. It was also incredibly hot, the air a red color because of the constant lava flowing and fire burning inside of the dome.
The demon then smiled, satisfied by his own performance. "Haha... it feels good, so, so so very good... But it's unfortunate... I couldn't take over his body even if there still was anything left off it, not that I care about stealing something from the humans. No matter how powerful you are, you can't make up for the difference between superior races through mere effort." The demon was looking around. Not for any particular reason but to continue admiring his dome. "Ah... since there's no evidence, I created this technique." The demon kept talking in the same dark yet demeaning and cruel voice. The kind of voice that sounded like it could hold compassion just for the most vile and brutal person to lay under that false sense of security. The demon then slowly began preparing for another attack. "Let's see how much potential this has!"
The amount of magic was something the likes of Velios hadn't reached yet. Enough destuctive power to kill almost any monster you'd encounter with a single attack and one that could erase cities of the map. The only thing holding the demon back was his lack of creativity and actual usage of his abilities. Although the demon possessing large amounts of intellect, smarter than the average human, it fell behind in experience and technique, having been strong since the beginning of its time, having never had to struggle in a fight ever before. But, could Velios manage to somehow make up the difference in their strength through sheer technique? If the demon is strong enough to reduce Velios to literal atoms, then what could he possibly do if all the demon needed to do was land an attack? The answer was simple. He'd just have to endure that same attack over and over until he'd be adept enough to not instantly die from it.
As the demon kept laughing, he didn't realise what had happened mere seconds ago. The wind was now blowing freely and wildly, sand scattered everywhere. "What?" The demon opened his eyes and looked around, seeing that he was not in the same location. His dome was gone, now replaced with something completely different. It wasn't the same underground city either, but a huge and wide dessert as far as the eye could see. It was clear that the demon was confused. He didn't know what had happened. His eyes stared wide into the horizon, dunes of sand scattered everywhere, giving the giant desert almost an eerie vibe. There was no sign of life, the only thing the demon could hear was the wind flowing through the air, sending a slight reaction throughout his body as the wind went past his ear. Then, a quiet noise entered his ear following the wind. It was subtle but the demon knew instantly what it meant. He wasn't there alone.
Velios was standing in the sand, a few tens of meters away from the demon, looking down at the ground with his hair covering his face. His normally black-colored hair had a slight hint of red and all of his clothes on his upper body destroyed, replaced with blood that covered his body instead. The demon was left utterly speechless, no amount of words describing either of his emotions or thought process. "Hehehe... hahaha...! HAHAHAH!" Velios shouted loudly and clearly, leaving not a single bit of emotion hidden inside of his body. "What are you- how are you still alive?!" The demon exclaimed loudly, directed at Velios, the only other person there but he got no respons. Velios didn't look like he was interested in the demon. He continued laughing until he abruptly stopped, instead wearing a huge grin on his face while looking up into the sky, clearly showing all of his built up emotions.
The demom stood there, unable to move. There was something about Velios, something was different. Is he high? ...What is he doing? The demon thought to himself, unable to explain why Velios was acting like he was. Velios slowly stopped smiling all together, his eyes losing something not associated with a part of his body, but a part of who he was, something similar to his emotions. His eyes had lost all emotion, turning stale and dark, but his smile slowly returning. However, this time, his smile wasn't one of happiness or one of nervousness. It was as if it was saying "kill... I need to kill... I like killing... I'm going to savor this kill... I'm going to kill him... over, and over... and over again." The demon could perfectly pick up on it but it was too late. Far too late.
Velios appeared right before the demon and before it could even react, ripped one of it's arms out. The demon looked at him as if he was crazy. A human enjoying killing? The demon tried to counter but he missed. He missed again and again, growing more frustrated by the minute. Powerful attacks, enough to completely ruin a whole city missed Velios by just a hair's length because the demon had poor technique. He had no battle sense. He fought Velios fought like an animal, but his technique had been refined and his muscle memory fine tuned. He could sense when the demon was going to attack, how and where. But still, something didn't make sense. Velios was completely powerless their first clash, so what was different? Velios had an aura around him like he usually had but, something was different? How had the demon not noticed it until now? The demon had no proper answer to it, but whatever it was, the demon was sure that it was the energy radiating from Velios' body, but he had no idea what it was.
Punch after punch, none of them seemed to land on Velios. The demon knew instinctively that he was both much faster and stronger than Velios but somehow, he was losing and severely so. The demon, frustrated enough launched a fury of blows towards Velios. Instead, before he could even get infront of him, he got slashed in the back, leaving his body in two pieces with the fight still far from over. "Interesting! A human that can hurt me! This will surely be a battle to boast about!" The demon had instantly regenerated and covered the whole area in pure-black, dark flames, including his own body. But, no matter what he was doing, it wasn't working. Velios fighting style had suddenyl switched to something much more violent, something truly brutal. Something optimized for killing others. Velios' eyes were wide open, yet it didn't look like he was conscious or rather, he was not in his right mind.
Magic attack after magic attack, for the demon, it all just looked like a huge, tangled mess of mana. He didn't understand it at all. He had the idea that the ideal form of magic would be not the magic itself, but the wielder and the strength they possessed. As their fight progressed, it was clear that Velios was becoming more and more crazy, giving less thought about his own well being. A punch to the gut caused a hole in his stomach, but Velios instantly regenerated it before punching the demon square in the face. The demon, realising that the human would go on to continue healing and taking hits, no matter what he did, he figured the only way to beat him would be to end it all, with one, big attack. "HAHAH! You have amused me, human! Now prepare to face your end! Mana dom-!" Velios' hand went through the demon's neck, stopping it from speaking temporarily. Mountains of blood began pooling down from the huge wound, the demon's head barely hanging on, ready to snap at anytime.
Velios stared directly into the demon's eyes, his own eyes showing something the demon hadn't noticed. The life Velios' has lived has been more bloody and brutal than the demon's. But even so, Velios carried a wide smile, even though it was one of a psychopath. It was also in that moment the demon realised something. The amount of mana the human in front of him had was like an endless void, a bottomless pit. He'd never seen anything like it before. Was that bastard... holding back?! The demon could barely think for himself, too focused on the hand that was still through his neck. With a smile wider than before, massive amounts of aura began surging from within Velios, creating an atmosphere around the two of them that caused the ground under them to sink. With a sudden release, everything around them was covered in a beautiful yet destuctive light, consuming everything in its range, completely obliterating everything. The demon instantly got evaporated by the light and in the end, nothing was left of the demon.
