Mrs dream…

I walked into the house as usual but noticed something different about the setting of the house, it was scattered, disarranged and a lot of things were not in place. Chills ran down my spine as I walked through the corridor passage of the house to the kitchen.

'Ten!' I called, that was the name of my younger brother who was the only person I'd expect to be in the house at that time of the day. My parents were divorced and we stayed with our mom.

'Five' is me. I'm a 19 years old girl whom fate has decided her predicament and her current situation. I and my brother, aged 18 were abandoned by our father five years after our mother claimed his property worth millions of dollars due to their divorce.

'Ten!' I called again as I opened the kitchen door to inquire more about the situation'

and again no answer. Suddenly as I was about leaving the kitchen, I heard my brother's voice come from the parlor;

'Hey sis, what's up?'

'What's up?' I replied with anger but in a non violent way

'What the hell is going on here? can't you see we've been robbed'.

Ten who pretended not to have noticed the situation started going back to the parlor to relook when he turned back and said 'Damn sis!' In a laughing tone

'Yes sis! I'm the thief I had turned the house upside down trying to look for my ticket to the game show', he laughed again and this time it became hard.

I sighed then left the kitchen told him to be fast while arranging the house because mom was going to be back soon.

Mrs came home that night but went straight to her room without talking to any of us(her children). This happens once once in while and we knew something had gone wrong.

The next morning came with dew which made the weather cold as ice. Mrs walked to the sitting room through the passage which is usually dark in the morning but with the help of her torch light she was able to scale through. Luckily and stress free for her she saw me and Ten in the sitting room.

' I was about to go call you guys from your rooms'

'You know the walk there is kinda short but tiring'

She got no reply from us but anyways I knew she wasn't expecting one .

She sat down on one of the couches in a position which was parallel to both of us in the opposite direction.

The grande sitting room which consisted of fancy blue colored designs couches and a dining room which shared boundaries with the sitting room. Though not in a very extravagant style, It could be seen by the look of the things and properties in there that the occupants are wealthy. The very expensive wooden table sitting in the middle in between the couches, the rainbow colored chandelier, the expensive thick black curtains which covered the large windows and the 6 feet wide tv plasma which had an auto robot capacity.

Mrs stared at the sitting room for a minute and muttered to herself.

'These are mine, not his' then sudden fear gripped her which was shown by the expression on her face and the way she breathed.

Not minding her, Ten and I who were on our phones at the other end got up to leave the sitting room, we had gotten tired and now irritated by my mother's presence.

Just then mother said in a loud voice but not loud enough to be a shout…

'He came again'

' He threatened'

As Ten was about speaking and I sighed which made him pause.

'Don't be scared mom, he isn't going to do anything'

'The court is aware of this ma' I said prolonging a little and raising the tone of the last word'

'The property rightfully belongs to you !'

Not satisfied by my sentences she turned her head making her self look away from us.

Now caring a little I said

'Even at that, Jack is a Departmental Police Officer and Anne is a member of the CFI. They would help.'

Jack was my boyfriend of age 32 who by his actions was almost willing to do anything for me. While Anne was my best friend of four years though not like Jack but had always gone the extra mile to make me comfortable and happy.

Still not satisfied by my reply.

'I'm scared of what the future might be. I have dreams.' 'Dreams I fear to say'

She continued.

'Dreams. I sense betrayals, hate, greed and… ' she muttered.

'and… death Five'

'I can feel it around and the sensation so strong'

Nothing is around mum'

'You are letting your fear…'

'No…no… no Five they bring fear ' she interrupted.

Ten who had been standing there quiet all this while walked up to door leading to the balcony and said.

' A day will come… All these are gonna end and we won't have to talk about them anymore'

He didn't feel concerned in anyway.

He went to the balcony and sat down on one of the chairs there.

Remembering I was late for work I quickly grabbed my jacket on the edge of the couch and an apple from the dining table to say save the day. Funny, because I knew it wasn't going to last me an hour. I passed through the door and the balcony then through the fsurrounding the compound to get a cab.

My family was a family where nobody really cared about the wellbeing of the other except in serious situations. This got even worse when my father left us.1.
