Dr. Eddie the Bear

Brian bristled with indignation. "Brewing congee is a menial task, how could I not be capable? Just you wait, I'll serve it to you presently."

With that, he tucked Marigold into her covers, then adeptly retrieved a teddy bear from one of the room's many cabinets, placing it beside her pillow.

"Embrace this when you feel lonely, it shall become my surrogate," Brian declared with pride, his nostrils flaring.

Marigold scrutinized the bear, noting its age but discerning the tender care bestowed upon it – it was evidently a cherished possession.

Incidentally, Marigold had visited the Charlotte estate many years prior. Yet the chamber she currently occupied, if her memory served her right, had always been inaccessible.

"Why are you so familiar with the Evans household? And this room – I cannot recall its occupant. It seems uninhabited."
