CHAPTER 2

"Trinity stop looking at Ashton, he will never like you" my best friend Cleia uttered while she is eating a street food.

We are at the bench of the school field we're studying at. It is our 2nd year in college, both business course because our families are entrepreneurs.

I've never been interested in business but because of him I give up my dream just to be with him especially in our school. I had fun and learned a lot from business that I enjoyed in pursuing my college.

"I don't care, you are just bitter because your boyfriend left you for no reason" I replied to her that made her pout.

"I was left, what can I do? I am not the one who promised, let's just move on and don't have hopes just because you like him so much. Maybe he already has a girlfriend you didn't know." she replied bitterly and stared at the sky.

"I'm not threatened because I know every single detail in his life" I said while watching him playing basketball beside to where we're sitting.

He was also a great player in the university, he was always the MVP, dean lister even though he was a rich son and didn't give up on school, so I liked him.

I've never been into a man but after Ashton came into my life, he became inspiration and dream of being with someone.

I was just about to get up and walk back to class suddenly the bell rings, once again I looked at him and continued to go back to our class.

"Ok class dismiss deadline of assignments tomorrow no extension, ok?" the professor announced to the class and dismissed us. I was picking up my things when suddenly my mom called.

"Hello mommy?" I answered while putting my notebooks in my bag.

"Darling I just want to say you need to get home by 5pm" she replied.

"4:30pm is my dismissal, why mom is there something urgent?" I asked out of curiosity.

"Yes darling, we have a special dinner, be at home by 5pm bye study well!" she excitedly said and hang up the call.

"Ok mommy bye" I ended the call with curiosity, thinking what the event of the day is.

"Trinity let's go we're going to be late in the next class" I immediately followed her and walked beside her.

I met Cleia in my first year of high school, and we have been friends for a long time, and we have always been friends, and promised that we will never forget each other. One friend is enough for me, and it is she.

"Cleia I should go, my family has a special dinner tonight. I'll just make it up to you tomorrow" I promised to her while walking to the school gate.

"I see then, I'll see you tomorrow. Promise you will treat me tomorrow?!" she assured, and we kissed each other to the cheeks.

"Mr. Driver, what is the occasion in the house?" I asked our driver out of curiosity.

"It is a surprise; I can't tell you miss" he replied that made me sighed.

After arriving in the mansion, the people are in chaos because of the preparation they are doing. I saw my grandfather that I immediately approached.

"Darling you're here, get prepared now upstairs, the visitors will be here in a minute". my eyebrows arched and was stunned because I don't know exactly what the event for this day is.

"Okay grandpa but where's mommy?" I stepped on the stairs to go up while waiting for my grandpa reply.

"She is in your room waiting. Go now the time is running" he replied and signed me to go up.

I finally up to my room and started to feel unease because all of them looks so excited.

I was stunned when I opened the door of my room seeing many people their helping my mother get ready for the special dinner.

I was stunned for a moment because of my mom. She is really stunning, and her beauty is boundless as always.

"Darling, perfect timing, Percie can you fix my daughter now, our visitors will be in a minute now" she ordered the stylist and hand me over.

I didn't notice I was already sitting in front of the mirror getting fixed by the people my mother hired. I saw my red dress and a red heel beneath it making me think this is not a normal dinner but a nerve cracking one.

Dad came out of nowhere and whispered something to my mother making me more curious and annoyed because I feel so clueless in what happening right now.

"Trinity please change now to your dress, the visitors will be here in a minute" my mother command and left me in my room to change.

I look good tonight with my hair done and light make up. It matched my red cocktail dress perfectly paired with my red heels.

"After that Trinity, go downstairs and join us in the dining?" my mother command again as she came back to my room, and I nodded as response.

"I'm so proud of you my dear, you already grown and become a woman" my mother uttered with teary eyes.

"So sentimental" I joked to her and continued to dress up and fix myself.

"Darling they are already downstairs, I'll go now to greet them, come along after you fix yourself" mom said and left me alone in my room.

"Okay" I replied and wear my heels.

I sighed for a moment and looked at the mirror before going out in my room. I already hear their laughter and talking that made me nervous.

They all looked at me with big smiles when I started to come down except Ashton. The man that I've always liked and admired from afar.

"Darling you're so gorgeous by the way right timing let's start this event" Aunt Carmen said while looking at me intently and smiling to me widely.

"Let's toast for this gathering and for the special announcement we want to tell you." my grandmother said, and I sat down and looked at her.

I started to eat while looking at him, but he was quiet all night.

"Let's not delay this anymore, we've already arranged marriage you Trinity and Ashton to strengthen and expand our families' companies " he said, looking at them all, smiling except for Ashton.

I felt happiness but at the same time pain seeing him not into this kind of set up giving me conclusions that he really hates me...
