In the afternoon, Nolan paid a visit.
"Wow, you actually look alive," he said. "Wait, doesn't this mean I can kick your ass now?"
"I wouldn't bet on it," I said, grinning.
He shrugged in resignation. "If you say so." He walked closer. "Good to see you again."
"Likewise. How's life?"
"Life's been good. But I'm starting to get a little bored of the toys. Maybe I should find myself a partner like you."
"Well, tough luck. There's only one angel in this world and I've taken her."
He chuckled and then laughed out loud. "God you're in for a rude awakening if you think that mons- ahem… lady is an angel."
I almost wanted to ask him more but Armen had showed up and she'd been smiling. Nolan's smile kind of vanished but he kept a solid appearance. Dude was probably cooked.
