As soon as Mrs. Shen left the office, Mr. Ling, the leader of their medical team, stepped forward to address her.
"Mrs. Feng, right?" he inquired, a hint of indifference in his tone, though Stacy had just stated her name moments ago.
"Yes, Sir," Stacy replied respectfully, recognizing that Mr. Ling held a position of authority within the team.
His demeanor made it clear that he didn't hold her in high regard, and she couldn't help but wonder why.
"Seeing how Mrs. Shen recommended you, it seems you are not to be trifled with, huh?".
Mr. Ling's words carried a hint of hostility. Stacy sensed that her arrival might have disrupted the existing dynamics of the team.
"Please don't flatter me, Sir. I look forward to learning from you," Stacy said, keeping her tone humble and her gaze lowered.
Mr. Ling responded with a self-satisfied smirk and then turned to one of the female doctors in their team.
"Take Miss Feng and show her around. We have a surgery scheduled at 8 in the evening, and she needs to familiarize herself with the hospital," he instructed, before abruptly leaving the room.
The young girl, who appeared to be of similar age to Stacy, stepped forward with a warm smile.
"Hello, Miss Feng. I'm Gu An Xin, an Anesthesiologist," she introduced herself, extending her hand for a handshake.
"Please call me Stacy," Stacy replied, accepting the handshake. "This is Mr. Han Shi, the second Anesthesiologist," An Xin continued, gesturing to a man who nodded in acknowledgment.
"And this is Mrs. Chen Shu, the Scrub nurse and the only married person in our team." Stacy lowered her head in a sign of respect.
An Xin continued with the introductions, "This is Xiang Yuan, the Anesthetic nurse. And finally, this is Gao Leng, the only Perfusionist.
He's not much of a talker." Stacy smiled and nodded at each of them. "Nice to meet you all. It's a pleasure to be able to work with you."
With the introductions complete, An Xin took the lead. "Okay, Miss Stacy, let's move out, and I'll show you around."
As they left the office, Stacy couldn't help but notice the envious expression on Xiang Yuan's face.
Over the next few minutes, An Xin gave Stacy a brief tour of several key areas within the hospital.
However, she acknowledged that the hospital was quite vast, and there was still much for Stacy to discover.
An Xin took a moment to share some insights about Team 2, a rival medical team that was known for their competitiveness and hostility.
"Their leader is Miss Lin Qing, and she's not really a good person. Don't ever get on her bad side; she's someone who holds grudges." Stacy smiled and appreciated the advice.
An Xin had proven herself to be a friendly and welcoming colleague, and they even exchanged contact information.
As the day wore on, Stacy accompanied her new colleagues as they attended to various patients, including emergency cases.
The hours passed quickly, and before she knew it, it was time for the surgery scheduled for the night.
Stacy joined the team as an assisting surgeon, her first time participating in surgery outside of her school's controlled environment.
The pressure was palpable, and her hands trembled slightly as they scrubbed in. Despite the tension, she focused on the task at hand, determined to prove herself.
The surgery lasted for several hours, during which Stacy played a crucial role in assisting the team.
Mr. Ling, although impressed, withheld his compliments. Stacy sensed his underlying jealousy, which he managed to hide behind a veneer of professionalism.
Finally, the surgery was completed successfully. The team expressed their satisfaction and silently acknowledged Stacy's contribution, even though they didn't say it outright. Stacy gathered her belongings, preparing to head home.
As she left the hospital, Stacy couldn't help but reflect on the day.
As she stepped out into the cool night air, she took a deep breath and looked up at the stars.
It was a clear night, and the moon shone brightly, casting a soft glow over the city. She couldn't help but feel a sense of excitement and anticipation for what lay ahead.
She went straight into the garage and sped off.
