The air in Stacy's room was cool and dimly lit, the soft glow from the bedside lamp casting golden hues on the walls. 

Mr. Qin guided her gently to the bed, his grip firm yet careful as she wavered under the influence of the wine. 

She collapsed onto the mattress, her legs folding awkwardly beneath her as she let out a contented sigh, her head falling back against the pillows.

 He stood there for a moment, his hand still lingering near her shoulder as he made sure she was steady. 

She looked so different now, unguarded, her usual sharp wit dulled by the haze of intoxication. As he straightened up, his gaze lingered on her for longer than he intended. 

The woman who had unknowingly dismantled the walls he had constructed around himself now lay before him, disheveled and unfiltered, her vulnerability tugging at something deep within him.
