Episode 6 A Little Lore and A Little Love

In this game's universe, we use the term "Quadrant" to describe big regions of space within a galaxy. These Quadrants have their own individual celestial objects called "Planets." Additionally, we have "Vectas," which are smaller dwarf planets that usually orbit larger planets and are often home to civilizations.

Believe it or not, the game's lore runs deep, even though it has a dating sim mechanic.

Specifically, the refugees we're talking about come from a Vecta-06, which is a sixth dwarf planet. This dwarf planet in particular was governed by a planet called Atuj'R. So, to describe it, you'd say "Quadrant 06, Planet Atuj'R Vecta-06."

The planet I rule is in Quadrant 04, known as Proxima. I don't have any Vectas under my control.

To move between Quadrants, we use something called "Warp Jumps." These jumps basically bend space and time around the ship so we can travel to different parts of the galaxy. However, each jump requires a massive amount of resources. It's kind of unbelievable that the refugees' ship, which seemed pretty beat-up, managed even one Warp Jump.

I'm just relieved they're safe.

I found out that a coup d'état happened on Planet Atuj'R on its 412th orbit around its sun. This coup led to the removal of the democratically elected members from the ruling political party of Atju'R.

The ones behind this coup were the military forces of Atuj'R.

This situation sounds a bit familiar to me. Then again, there was so much conflict and war in my old world that this kind of thing almost seemed common. Sadly.

As the refugee ship approached our port, I felt nervous. I felt like I would regret this choice in the future. I don't know. I don't want to know yet.

Dressed in regal attire, I stood at the edge of the bustling port, flanked by a group of officials and guards. The bright lights of the city illuminated the expanse of our sky, creating a welcoming atmosphere.

As the ship's docking procedure commenced, I stepped forward, making my presence known. I could feel my palms sweat.

The first refugee descended, their eyes filled with a mix of hope and uncertainty. I extended a hand, a symbol of solidarity and greeted them with a warm smile. They began to cry. I'm not gonna cry. Please, don't make me cry. Great, they're all coming down to hug me.

One by one, the refugees disembarked, each carrying their own tales of struggle and resilience. I listened intently to their stories, offering words of assurance. It was a diverse group, representing different species and backgrounds, but they all shared a common need for safety and refuge.

Amidst the chaos of arrival, I made a point to meet and greet as many refugees as possible, personally conveying our commitment to their well-being and integration into our society. It was a moment of unity, where our shared humanity transcended the boundaries of our civilizations.

These people will be part of my people now.

While the medical aid and screening process was underway, a holographic notification materialized before me, bearing the news that our civilization had grown by 318 new individuals. It's good I immediately thought of the screening system.

As Queen, I knew that each of these newcomers brought with them their unique experiences, skills, and backgrounds. They were not just numbers but living beings seeking safety and hope on Proxima.
